WWYD food & party related?
For my mom's 60th I've planned a surprise party w/just her closest friends at an Indian restaurant. There are between 20-30 people coming, we have a separate room.
DH and I are footing the bill...
Option A) Let people order whatever they want...I doubt people would go "crazy" but Indian food is not cheap but I'm sure people would be happier this way...
Option B) There is a "special" at the restaurant that covers an app, two different curries w/rice and/or naan and a dessert...seems good but it seems a little "package" like, KWIM? And there are a couple of vegetarians so they might get less....this ends up being $20 a person which is a great deal...but I don't know if people would be thrilled about it...then again, they're not paying
I'm leaning towards option A....I'm sure DH is leaning towards B , but will go whatever I decide....

We did something like that for DH's nana's bday, and we did the early bird special but I printed up really nice decorated menus like a wedding with the options, which I thought made it look much nicer. I'd go with B!

What if you did a combo of the two. Choose 3 or 4 dinner selections along with an app and dessert and print up menus to put at each setting. That way guests have a choice but you can keep the price down a bit. It's what most restaurants offer anyhow.

I would do package B and find out how many vegetarians you have coming and have something additional or separate for them. The restaurant will def accommodate you.

I agree, for me it is not worth the gamble to see what people would order. I say option B, its less risky and it still sounds yummy!
