WWYD? Going to VA this weekend

Me, my mother, DH and our 15 month old dd were planning to visit my brother in northern VA this weekend, we were going to drive down in the middle of the night tonight at around 2am. Now we're really torn because of Irene. What would you do if you were me??

NOVA is probably a better bet than LI. It's supposed to be bad down here (I'm in MD) but LI is supposed to be worse because of the positioning of the storm.

We were thinking that, but DH is thinking of leaving tomorrow at noon and keeping an eye on the storm throughout the night. I still want to leave at our originally planned time. There should be less traffic at 2am, I don't want to be stuck in traffic for hours with DD who's been fussy and teething all week. I feel like everyone's going to be on the road midday tomorrow.n

I'm also in MD (DC suburbs), and I would say stick with your plan and leave as planned in a few hours. The roads are going to be a mess tomorrow with all of the mandatory evacs that are about to happen up and down the i95 corridor,

Thanks for the advice, I showed DH and he decided that we should leave in the middle of the night after all. We've been indecisive about this all week!
