WWYD? Hair related... (added in "after" pics)
I've been going to the same girl for years to get my highlights. The past few times I've gone, I've not been happy with the result. I want more of an all-over color and she's been doing it more streaky.
I went yesterday and showed her the picture below of my hair (she had done this color for me back in October and I wanted her to replicate it before I give birth in a few days) and the end result is SOOOOOOOOOO not that at all! If anything my hair is darker than it was before I went in yesterday morning and the highlights are very streaky and barely noticeable. I'm just pizzed that I specifically showed her a picture of what I wanted and something SHE had done previously, so it's not like she was trying to mimic something that someone else had done. After they rinsed me yesterday, I didn't realize how late it had gotten, so I had to run out without getting it blown out to see how it actually looked.
I'm obviously not going to go back there again, even though I've been going to her for years AND DH gets his hair cut by her as well, so it could end up being an awkward situation. I don't even have time now to go back and gt it fixed. UGH - I am so mad.
This is what I wanted - I'll have to take a pic later of what I ended up with yesterday
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is what I ended up with. It's not HORRIBLE, just SO not what I wanted. (the pics were taken before I got around to showering and straightening this morning)
Re: WWYD? Hair related...
i wouldnt go back to her. i would find someone else!
i dont know where you live, but i have been going to Emily at hairmattics on willis avenue in Williston Park for years (i think ten!). she always does an amazing job. she even fixed my hair when i idyed it red on my own. i got a full had of highlights, cut, and blow out for $130- which i think is pretty reasonable.
good luck!
I would go back as soon as you can and have it fixed. Definitely call ASAP and tell them it is not what you wanted.
wow - she definitely screwed up. it doesn't look bad at all, but its not what you asked for!!
V i know it's getting close but can you go to that place, show the manager/owner the old pics and say that you want the highlights redone for free, or a reduced cost (since you had to leave)?
sorry she did that to you, i know you don't need the added stress
Re: WWYD? Hair related... (added in "after" pics)
Thanks girls.
The salon was closed for the long weekend and will be open again on Tuesday. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle this, as I am totally a non-confrontational person, PLUS, DH gets his hair cut by her as well.
I totally do NOT have the time right now to sit there and get it fixed. At this point, I'm just resigning myself to the fact that I'll go somewhere else a few weeks after my son is born.
I'm just so disappointed because I was really looking forward to having my hair look the way it did in those pictures.
Do you request a "half-head" of highlights or just a "crown"? To me the pics look just like the crown area.
I would also tell her that you want them very chunky, thick instead of thin and streaky.
