WWYD-lifting heavy things
If you work at a Veterinary Hospital and had to lift a 50-60lb dog into a cage and you were 4 weeks pregnant. Would you do it or not? I ask because I might be put in this situation next week but dont know if I should stress it being that Im so early in pregnancy.

Re: WWYD-lifting heavy things
As I mentioned in your other thread about lifting, there is no harm to the baby whatsoever by doing heavy lifting. The only concern is later in pregnancy when your belly gets bigger and you could hurt your back by not lifting correctly. If you are concerned, call your doctor.

Re: WWYD-lifting heavy things
Honestly, I would call the doctor and ask...My mother and grandmother insist I not lift anything at all...which I dont take too seriously...but I definitely haven't lifted anything THAT heavy...

Is this something you normally do?

I teach dance and was doing lifts with my students helping lift some in their teens in the beginning and up until my belly got in the way. As long as it is something you're used to keep at it as long as it doesn't hurt.

No, its not something I do normally. The technician will be out for a few days due to a family emergency so I will have to fill in for her. I occasionally lift dogs but its not something I do everything. Im just so nervous because I hear mixed reviews on this.

Re: WWYD-lifting heavy things
Ask your physician. Only they know your medical history and background and can determine what is and isn't safe for you in this situation
