I don't know if exchanging it will solve the problem. If you do a search on car seat.org you will see lots of people have the same issue. It's kind of scary becuse of you needed to get them out ASAP you really can't of the bucks decides to be temperamental at that time. Sucksss because other than that it's a great seat.
Thats what I was thinking....I was hoping maybe they improved the design or something....
Besides the Britax, does anyyone know of another 5 point harness booster with a good weight limit ? My DS is only 6 and weighs 60 lbs
I'm not sure it would be worth it to buy a whole new seat since the harness only goes up to 65lbs on other seats, as well as the Nautilus.

OK so my biggest concern with this was in case of an emergency (car accident)how do you get DC out fast enough. I read on another forum that in case of an accident Emergency personnel remove the entire carseat with the child in it so it shouldn't be an issue. Does anyone know if this is true?
Some EMS cut the straps to get child out, some EMS will cut the LATCH or seatbelt and take the whole seat.
You can always loosen the harness to pull them out if needed. Or, carry a special tool kit to get them out. Unless the car is on fire or there is some other extenuating circumstance, they should remain in the seat until EMS arrives.

There are plenty of seats out now that go beyond 65lbs. Britax Frontier harnesses to 85lbs, some models of the Radian to 80 and there is a Recaro or two that go to 70lbs. Graco's Argos goes to 70lbs and so does the TrendZ FastBack.
Bops, since your DS is already 60lbs, you may want to consider beginning to booster train him. Take him in a high back for shorter trips (5-10 mins) to get him used to sitting in a booster, since 5lbs can be added pretty quickly (remember the weight limit on a seat is fully clothed!) Unless he has poor impulse control or behavior disorders, 6 should be old enough to booster full time with no issues. IMHO, not worth spending another $150ish to get an additional 5lb seat limit.

Yeah, we actually have a booster seat (high back detachable type) that we use when we vacation etc....He does well with them, I just liked the added safety of the 5 point harness (is there added safety )
Very interesting to know about the weight limit with clothes on ...Not sure if Im in the minority but I never knew that ! You should maybe make a post about it !
Thanks again for being so helpful !

I have noticed this, but it's usually because there is clothing pinched between the buckle and the clip. I usually have to remove the clothing, push the buckle IN further and then it will release.
