WWYD re: Long car trip?

We are going to LI in a week for a few days. DS (he is 13 mos) doesn't do that well in the car in general. We are going to be in the car for about 7 hours for the way home (on the way there we are splitting up the drive with an overnight stay).

Would you - leave to go home Saturday night at about 7pm after DS is asleep and drive until about 2am? Or would you leave Sunday, and risk the potential of driving with a screaming DS.

My Mom is going with me, so I won't be alone but I will be doing most of the driving.

I have to work Monday, so driving home Sunday night is not something I want to do...

Driving at night is most appealing to me, but I am worried a little about drunk drivers on the highways on Saturday night...

WWYD?

Re: WWYD re: Long car trip?

we live upstate and we travel down to LI alot. DD is 14 months old and for the past few months we have found that she is great if we leave at bedtime. Around 6:30 or 7:00 and she sleeps the whole time. If she's up, she will only be good for a short period of time and then she gets antsy.

drunk driver concern.. I hear you... we usually leave on sunday night, but we have left on saturday's before. good luck!
