WWYD? Re taking a position

If you had the opportunity to work from home and make a really good salary, but you would still have to hire someone to watch DC through the day, and probably be out of the house a day or two a week for meeitngs in the city would you? Also, would you accept this job NOW, if you are planning on getting pregnant again in the summer?????

I don't need to work, this is a choice I have right now and not sure what to do...

Re: WWYD? Re taking a position

well, being in a similar situation-- minus TTC this summer, I felt like it was the right thing to do to try working a little. I loved working-- and I loved making money Chat Icon, and having my own that I didn't need to justify every little thing I bought. My situation is different because my hours are part-time.

Honestly, if you think you would really like the job-- I say go for it. It might bring you something you didn't realize you were missing.

I know I will miss the time I spend with Sasha, but I think it's good for me and her to spend time with other people. I mean-- we literally gaze across the room at each other!

But anyway-- congrats!! I guess you got the job!

I know I miss working and making money, but at the same time I feel like I'm done working FOR someone, I've been toying with doing real estate or something like that, that eventually can be my own...
I didn't get it yetChat Icon but it's leaning towards that way, I may have to fly out to California to meet with the big wigs, but that's just a formality...and the whole ttc thing this summer, I know DH will get soooo hung up about the extra cash that he's not going to want to try and have the possibility of me not going back again!

Re: WWYD? Re taking a position

well-- I would say, see what happens. See what the offer is, and make sure you understand your responsibilities. Better to be in the drivers seat and have it be your decision.

Even if you start TTC this summer, it will probably be another year (Summer 2011) that you have the baby. That's almost another 1.5 years of working-- keeping your resume fresh and earning a salary that's just gravy now, that you can put away so you don't even have to entertain the thought of bringing in money after the second one comes. At least until you mentally want to.

your 2nd paragraph hits it head on, thats what I'm thinking...I'm pretty sure I know what it entails and it would be cushy, so I do think if I got it and the offer and it was strong, I'd probably take it...ugh...

Re: WWYD? Re taking a position

I work from home and the work is getting to be too much for me to do during naps/at night - and is looking like it will get even heavier soon, so I am going to be hiring a part time nanny/mother's helper. It will probably be for about 3 hours a day.

Re: WWYD? Re taking a position

I am in a different situation b/c I do work FT but I work from home on Fridays and still have help for DD. I LOVE it.

I love being able to nurse DD instead of pumping and being able to see her when I take 5 minute breaks.

I think working from home is an awesome option.

Yah this is what DH says, I'm just so type A I can't deal with someone being in my house and watching DD, I'm totally going to be running down every two seconds and telling her no, don't do it that way, I totally see myself doing thatChat Icon

I always go back to the money, I think I would take it, esp if it was going to be a huge amount of income!

Re: WWYD? Re taking a position

For me, being able to skip the NYC commute (or only do it once/twice a week) AND keep my NYC salary would be a no brainer ..........
