WWYD? Registry related...
I have been tutoring to earn some extra money for when the baby comes. I plan on socking this money away for diapers, formula and other incidentals that the baby might need.
I have enough right now to get the convertible carseat that we want (the Britax Roundabout in Cowmooflage ) and still have a hefty chunk leftover. I feel guilty putting such an expensive item on the registry in addition to our stroller, infant carrier, etc.
Should I just buy this on my own while I have the money to burn? (This is a steady tutoring job that will continue throughout the summer, so it's not liie I'm blowing my load on just one item).
WWYD? Buy it on your own or put it on the registry? There are other littler things that I would rather put on there than several big-ticket items.

Re: WWYD? Registry related...
personally I would put it all on the registry but put the money on the side for what ever I dont get...plus keep in mind most stores will send you coupons or some kind of discount for the items not purchased on your registry

Re: WWYD? Registry related...
Put it on the registery! Heck... I have two convertibles (cowmooflage for my car!) on ours plus the infant with extra base! DH and I swap cars frequently. You'll have time after your shower to get all you need. Save your money for then. You'll be surprised what turn up at your shower.
This reminds me of my sister... always right before her birthday or Christmas, she buys herself stuff that would have made great gifts then we're left with getting her useless things!

I would put it on the registry. Sometimes people like to go in together on a gift and stuff like that. Don't feel guilty.

Re: WWYD? Registry related...
put it allllllllllllllllllllllllllll on the registry. You'll be surprised at how generous people are. Even if you don't get it from anyone, you'll have the opportunity to get all leftover items on your registry discounted a week or two before your baby is due. I wish I put my breastpump on the registry so I could have gotten it discounted!

Put it on your registry. I had enough gift cards to last me the first nine months of Jack's life!

Re: WWYD? Registry related...
Just put it on the registry along with the other smaller things you would like. People get you what they want and can afford. So if it's not purchased at the end you can always get it with the completer coupon.

Yeah, I'm always told to put everything on your registry- even if you think people won't get it for ya. Sometimes big groups of people go in on something and chip in, ya never know!

Re: WWYD? Registry related...
PUT that on the registry.
I was part of a group of 3 people who bought the Britax for someone last year. People go in knowing what they want to spend. Maybe someone will be very generous and just buy it for you or maybe a few people will go in together and get it...you never know!!!

Re: WWYD? Registry related...
I would have everything on the registry and then whatever you don't get at the shower, use your saved $$$ to pick up.

Re: WWYD? Registry related...
You'll be shocked at how much you get in GC's! I 'd register for the carseat and would keep the money for the diapers and such like you had planned. The carseat isn't going anywhere and the baby won't need it for a while anyway so I'd hold off at least until after the shower.
