WWYD Tile Question
We redid our kitchen floor two years ago with tile. When we moved the fridge back into the kitchen we didn't know it had a broken wheel and it scratched four of our brand new tiles. They have since cracked all the way across. Life got in the way and we are only just now ready to do anything about it.
We only had two leftover tiles so we went back to home depot where we had special ordered the tiles to order more. They told us and called the company who confirmed that if we reorder they most likely will not match the originals.
So as far as we can figure our options are order the box and hope they are close enough to not make a difference. Or, give up on the tile and cover the floor with linoleum. We can't do a layer of tile over the existing because it will be much higher than the hard wood in our dining area. We can't rip up and start from scratch because our new cabinets were installed on top of the tile.
Are there any options we are overlooking? Any advice?

Re: WWYD Tile Question
How much is a box of new tile?
If you're talking $25 - I'd buy the box and chance it.
Worst case scenario, if it looks really, really off - then you cover with linoleum.

Re: WWYD Tile Question
Everytime ceramic tile is fired in a kiln there is a natural variety is coloring in shading. That being said, it should not be sooo off that you cannot get away with two replacement tiles. If the tiles you have already have variation, the easier it will be to match.
Can you FM me the name of the company you special ordered from? I used to work for one of them and I know they will be willing to help you find a match.
