X Post... BTDT Moms! Anyone have an in position baby who turned breech after 37 weeks????

My baby girl was in position last week as of Thursday.

Today she's totally breech. She turned completely out of position since last week and this late in the game!! The sono tech was surprised she turned out of position so late.

I was wondering if anyone had this happen? Did the baby turn back into position or did the baby stay breech?

I'm accepting the fact that I need a C section since she's butt first. But I'm curious to hear if anyone has a similar story.

Also, I don't want to schedule a C section to then be sent home again.... sort of like what happened to me today.

Well, not exactly what you are asking, but I found out just shy of 39 weeks that DS was breech from a sonogram. The week before at my appt. I had asked if they could tell if he was in position and the doctor felt around and said, "yup, head down, ready to go." For a long time previous I had been sure it was DS head I felt constantly pushing from around my ribs and side, but they told me no, that's the feet - they can push really hard with their feet.

Well, guess they were wrong b/c when I had the sono - finally - the tech was surprised to see a breech baby. The midwife I was seeing that day said that since DS was butt down, it probably felt like a head to the Dr. the week before b/c both are pretty hard. Grrrrr!!!

At any rate, at that point she told me we could either schedule a C-section or, schedule a version and they would try to turn baby and if it worked, they would induce me right then, otherwise they would go straight to C-section. This was a Friday and they scheduled me for theTuesday after (Labor Day weekend otherwise I guess they would have set it for Monday.)

My little one decided that night he was ready so my water broke and I had no choice but to have the C section the next morning, but had I not, I don't think there was much chance he'd turn on his own. Maybe the version would have worked - but I'll never know.

my sister had twins last year.
was breech
in position
than the last switched to breech,
she never switched back either .
she had a c/s regardless bc 1 was breech in beginning.
i had a c.s too.

DS was breech from about 32 weeks and even with an attempted version, he never turned.

All the doctors and nurses all told me that he would get into position and that most babies do but mine didn't.

I had a scheduled C-section at 39 weeks.

Mine was breech at 36 weeks, turned once head down, turned AGAIN on my due date causing my waters to break...I felt her move and my waters broke
...and I had a section.

Its a crap shoot!
