XM/Sirius..I am ready to lose it!
DH and I have been loyal Sirius subscribers since it came out. At one point, we had probably 5 receivers/month between both our vehicles, his business, etc. Anyway, we never paid more than $75/month.. EVER.
The Sirius bills has been debited out of one of our joint accounts that we never really monitored closely. Our OWN fault!!!
We are down to 2 receivers only. Today, we take a look at the bank statement, and I realize we have been getting scammed for the last year. I have XM in my car, he has Sirius in his. There are various charges each month, from Sirius and XM. Sometimes 3 or 4 charges a month. $130 for XM, $50 Sirius, $22.50 Sirius, etc,,,, all in the same month. This has been going on for the last year!!!!!
We did the math and they have debited apprx $1k out of the account for only 2 receivers!! They have THE WORST customer service, we have been on the phone with them for 3 hours, then they hang up, place us on hold for 45 mins, etc. They put you back on hold for so long, they just hope you hang up.
The rep we spoke to told us 'someone' approved a 2 year subscription for $299. They cannot provide a date, or who they spoke to, or any other details about this 'verbal commitment'.
Do you think I can file a dispute with my bank. We NEVER authorized a 2 year subscription. I did some research online, and there are thousands of complaints just like this. I am so annoyed at myself for not monitoring the account closely and letting this happen. I love Howard Stern, but not this much.

That totally suck$. I'm sorry that happened.
I'm not sure if you have a leg to stand on with the bank. Most companies give you a certain amount of time to dispute fradulent charges, not sure if they will work with you on charges up to a year old. I learned this lesson many years ago when I used to not pay attention to my credit card statements.
Hope they can work with you and that stinks about Sirius/XM. DH has 1 receiver and has had it for years.... never had an issue with it.

I would definitely call the bank and ask if they can handle it!

I feel your pain! I hate dealing with them. I have had my share of problems with them as well. Most recently I was being charged for a non-existant receiver. I had to call a lot but eventually they were able to put a hold on the charge but I had to call back in three months to have it permanently removed. Just keep calling them. They do eventually give in.

Ugh...that really stinks. If you go with the bank route, they can probably only deal with the past 60 or 90 days. It should say it on your statement.
Good luck

I think this is right too but every bank had different policies on draudulent charges. I would cancel that bank account and transfer what you have in it to another account so they cannot charge it again, sounds like you have paid plenty for your service already for the next few years!

Re: XM/Sirius..I am ready to lose it!
You have to get a US based rep for them. I don't have the number at work but a quick google gave me
888-635-5142 and 866-635-4070 and 888-539-7474 and 877-967-4672
One of those will take you directly to a live US based customer service rep.
I had to use them to get a radio for DH for his birthday. The lackeys at the regular customer service number couldn't tell me why "I canceled my order" Umm no I didn't. Turned out they did since our account is in DH's name and I wanted to use MY credit card to pay for the radio. The US based rep was able to escalate it to a US based supervisor who was SO easy to deal with. Good luck.

Thank you!!! And thanks everyone. The latest as of last night at midnight, 4 hours later: They will not refund our money, but ALLEGE 'no bills until 2014! ' I am still calling the bank, and seeing what I can do.
