No idea....but I hope Maddie feels better!
Did you try rubbing alcohol on them? Did you just give oral benadryl or did you try the cream? What about another antihistemene? (zytrec)?

Re: XP: Allergic reactions (mosquito bites)
If Benadryl didn't do the trick, I would call the pediatrician. Which it looks like you did.
When my DD has reactions it sometimes takes the whole day (and even into the next day) for all the swelling to go down.
Hoping she's ok!!

I updated on Health. Steroid & an antibiotic. No camp today. She needs to keep it elevated all day long. They said it should take 24 hours to go down.
Here's what she's dealing with...

Did the doctor say why she had such a reaction?

Did the doctor say why she had such a reaction?
She usually swells up a lot with any kind of bug bite, but since she has a few bites on her wrist & hand. According to the doctor, the white blood cells gathering in that area have no place to go since it's in an extremity.
She got bit either yesterday during the day or the night before. She was complaining her hand hurt but it didn't swell until nighttime when she was laying down.
Ped said it should go down by tomorrow but will be puffy in the morning because she'll have it down while she sleeps. Maybe...if her mother doesn't sleep with her in an upright position on her chest.
She had a huge moment of panic on the way to the pediatrician, when Joseph asked, "If they need to cut off her hand, can I keep it? Please! We can get a jar..."
