DH and I decided that we're going to throw the baby shower because my mom is not the type to throw one for me and I don't expect my in-laws to have to throw it either. We've also decided on a jack and Jill shower.

I am involved in the planning. I didn't want a surprise and had a similar situation with offending my sister. I think she actually isn't even helping now. My mom is paying for the place but I am going to maybe give her some money and help with decorations. My sister in law is getting the cake and another sister in law is getting decorations, which I will help with. I got my invitations and will probably look into games and other things. I don't know if it's the norm but I wanted to know when and where it was. B/c of the little falling out with my sister over location, I ended up doing more and being more involved than I was planning on it. But I do not mind.

I knew the date, but nothing else. My Mom, MIL, sister and SILs did all the planning. They did a great job!

I had 2 family showers upstate, one with around 35 people and the other around 15. I had nothing to do with planning one and I helped a little with the other b/c I really wanted to but my mom and sister certainly put up a fight about it. I also had a small one here for close friends and coworkers which I did not help plan.
