Re: your best and worst vacation with the kids
Honestly, all of our vacations have been great.
I think that our family vacations with DH's family are the most special. We only go to Florida, but at the same time, it is set up so nicely, usually right on the beach, with a pool. That we can rest, cook our own food, vacation, but not too far from our normal routine.
I think the hardest (not worst) was when we cruised when DS was 8 months old, it was just a lot of work and he couldn't do anything. But if you have an older child, its a different story.

DR was the best (well and ofcourse Disney )
Our cruise when DS was 9 months was a bit challenging...

Re: your best and worst vacation with the kids
I agree, cruises have been hard. Cramped quarters...
Disney was good and bad at the same time for us. This past trip, it was very hot....Although Brody (1) enjoyed himself, it was a bit much for him.
The best trips have been the "slower" ones imo. Beach house rentals are great. You have the comforts of home, they can nap and you can try to stick to a normal routine. You can also do as much or as little as you want. We have done the Jersey Shore and Fire Island.
For me, whenever I plan for trips with the kids, I plan a lot and don't expect much.

Re: your best and worst vacation with the kids
DD is 11 months and we've had a couple trips to Florida which is always nice.
My 2 favrite trips with her have been
1. Myrtle Beach!! We went last month and had a blast. There are soo many things to do for children :)
2. Rocking Horse Dude Ranch!! We loved it there. There are an incredible amount of activities to go to. The food is actually really good and they keep the grounds really clean and nice. They have water slides and now are building an indoor water park there :)

Re: your best and worst vacation with the kids
All of our trips have been fantastic - our favorite was our trip to Rome/Israel with Alex last year. We've also taken a few trips to Club Med resorts, when we need a break, and they've been excellent.

Re: your best and worst vacation with the kids
We've really only gone to Fl. with DS- 4 times in 3 years. They have all been good trips because we have a timeshare. For us, staying in one room would never be an option. DH stay up late and couldn't tip toe around a sleeping DS.
