The den tree is white lights with a rustic woddland theme but also includes all of our special ornaments over the years.
The living room tree is a live Frasier Fir, also white lights, with a "Grinchy/Whoville" theme. Everything is red, green and white with a whimsical, sparkly flair.
The dining room tree is a pencil tree with white lights and just Christmas balls in colors to match the decor in there.
I have a set of flocked Xmas trees with white lights in the foyer. They are small and thin, I believe 2ft, 3ft, 4ft, and 5ft.
I love Christmas trees, wherever there is space I put one up.
I have no freaking clue how you do it! I always think maybe I’ll get a second tree in my office or bedroom, but then I usually change my mind after the first tree. I was done when I started the tree. I just ran out of patience this year.
Thanks everyone! Tree is still standing and no broken ornaments, yet.
I'm exhausted! LOLOL
Looking forward to my parents arriving today, they will be staying throughout the holidays and then we have some other out of state family visiting as well. It'll be nice having a house full of people so everyone can enjoy the trees and festivities. But even if nobody was coming, it's all about making Christmas as magical as I can for my kids so the exhaustion is worth it.
ETA - I love your tree topper!!! Where did you get it?

OMG I love your kittie! What a face! What kind of cat is that?
My tree is all white lights and I do all silver and glittery ornaments and decorations. I love how it looks- everything just sparkles- but the glitter is an issue when taking it down and putting it up. It's always all over me and everything else.
I was concerned because i have 2 new cats this year that I didn't have last Xmas and they are young and wild. I thought for sure they'd be climbing it or knocking it down, but so far they have been quite disinterested in it other than to sleep under it. I got lucky!
You have two new cats?! You need to pay the cat tax.
He’s a British Shorthair. They are known for their fat faces (especially the males) and the stout body. The Cheshire Cat is this breed. I have an older cat as well, so he just kind of hangs out by it. He’s not as active anymore.
I hear you about the glitter. My glitter is pine needles .
His coat looks so fluffy and soft too! Like one of those popcorn sweaters! So gorgeous! Yes, I've had a rotation of cats in my home this year. We took in an elderly Himalayan from my FIL when he had to be put in a nursing home. She ended up passing away. Then our own cat passed away over the summer. So we ebded up rescuing one cat, then the other. Back up to a 2 cat household!
Pardon my dark humor but I read this really fast and for a few seconds I thought the cat went in a nursing home.
I was like, that's a thing?
Sorry for everyone's kitty losses.
My tree has colored lights and no particular theme but for years I did only white and blue lights with sparkly silver garland. Then I changed it up.
I would love a second tree with just a certain color scheme that maybe I change every year but the layout of our house doesn't really lend itself to having the space unless I got a skinny one or something. But I have two Christmas villages - one NYC and one the North Pole.

As sad as it sounds and it does burst our bubble, the kids don't even care. I have heard from my own and other people IRL and online that their kids have said they don't really care about the decorations. I think that is sad as we are trying to make memories and many of these things the kids just push to the side.

Re: Your Xmas tree
LOL. Well they kind of do have cat retirement homes! I remember we went out east to adopt our first kitten years ago and on the grounds of the shelter they had a pet cemetery with head stones and everything- which I found kind of weird, but to each their own, lol. But they also had this retirement home where if you died, and had nobody to take your cat you could make arrangements that your cat would go there- I guess you pay a fee upfront or whatever the cost is. I mean, it's a good idea actually, but it just sounded funny like I pictured cats with walkers and in rocking chairs etc.

Maybe some people's kids are just crappy. ((shrug))
I know for a fact that my kids care. They look forward to our traditions, the decorations, the celebrating and everything that goes along with the holidays.
As I grew up, I too cared about all of the wonderful traditions and memories that my parents gave me and my siblings at this time of year and all throughout my childhood.
I wouldn't do for my kids what I do if I didn't have a wonderful childhood rich with family, tradition and special moments. I'm giving them what I had, that is definitely not a waste.

My DC voted, and they both decided to not put up a tree this year. So our tree is still in its box in the attic.

Are you aware that no matter what the topic is you will find a way to turn it into something completely negative? We can't even discuss Xmas trees without you having to comment that "everyone you know has kids that don't care and it's a waste of time". It's very unfortunate for you that you're always unable to see anything positive or happy and instead must always find some dark, depressing, negative spin to everything. My God, you even found a way to turn a discussion on holiday decorating into something miserable.
Whether you ever admit it to yourself or not your CONSTANT negative responses on here to literally EVERYTHING (even happy things) just reinforce that IRL you must be a very unhappy, insecure, unfulfilled person. Content, happy people don't have a need to ALWAYS say negative things and bring others down to feel better about themselves.
Enjoy your thankless holiday.

Re: Your Xmas tree
We have a fake tree and to be honest I loathe decorating for the holidays. The only thing I like about our tree is that most of our ornaments are from our travels or things that we've done as a family. Every vacation we get a new ornament and when we go to shows in the city we will get an ornament. Things like that. So our tree is filled with memories of all of the special things we have done as a family. I don't host Christmas ever so no one really sees our decorations except my kids and they don't really care about them.

Yes, I actually do love it. I always thought I would be the type with a perfectly decorated tree that looked like something that belonged in a department store. But now I realize that it's less about what it looks like and more about the memories it holds. My kids look forward to taking out and hanging each of the "special" ornaments.

So sweet.
There are some ornaments that are really special to each of my kids, when they are older and on their own I'd like to gift those special ones to each of them for their own trees so they can continue the tradition and ha e those memories forever.

I got it off of Amazon! That’s a stock photo I posted. I added some garland to it to make it sparkly, but that’s not shown in the original photo.

Same with the ornaments. My 1 day decorating has turned into a week with inside and out and the tree. It is a lot and turns into clutter within a few days. I love Christmas though and the atmosphere and the music and the getting together and celebrating and just the overall feeling. Honestly I remember the food for holidays when I was a kid and not much else lol.

If I ever have room for a 2nd tree, I will do that one matchy matchy but honestly this one has more "character" (I HATE that word honestly because how they use it on HGTV all the time lol).

Content, happy people don't have a need to ALWAYS say negative things and bring others down to feel better about themselves.
Enjoy your thankless holiday.
Back to this happy thread about holidays, trees and cute cats.
KK and I were having a conversation about trees and she was on the same page as myself.
It is not being negative, just real. You should really try it some time
How about Golden's crappy kids? No response to him?
OMG. Just stop. I wasn’t talking about kids, just about space and fitting the tree and how sometimes decorating can be a hassle.
That being said, I am very happy with my tree and was hoping others would share photos. You know for the Christmas spirit.

Same here. We have a small artificial tree, with ornaments from trips or experiences and built in lights. If it wasn't for DH we woulnd't have too much, sincere is the one that decorates here. DS likes the tree because it is small. He tends to be minimalist as I am

As sad as it sounds and it does burst our bubble, the kids don't even care. I have heard from my own and other people IRL and online that their kids have said they don't really care about the decorations. I think that is sad as we are trying to make memories and many of these things the kids just push to the side.
How did I know your answer would be this?
Are you aware that no matter what the topic is you will find a way to turn it into something completely negative? We can't even discuss Xmas trees without you having to comment that "everyone you know has kids that don't care and it's a waste of time". It's very unfortunate for you that you're always unable to see anything positive or happy and instead must always find some dark, depressing, negative spin to everything. My God, you even found a way to turn a discussion on holiday decorating into something miserable.

I will try and get picture uploaded
Done. Not the biggest or nicest but it is my memories through the years

Re: Your Xmas tree
Adorable cat!
And I'm sorry for everyone's kitty losses.
We don't have a theme, but our regular ornaments are red and silver. The majority of our ornaments though are ones we've collected over the years..ornaments for our pets, different destinations, our hobbies, etc.
One of our very first--actually, maybe our first ever--was one I got in an LIW ornament swap many years ago.
One of our cats pulled our whole tree down a couple of weeks ago...thank God nothing broke!

Oh wow - so it is a thing.
That's nice though. Better than the shelter!

Love this! We like to get ornaments too of places we've been. It's nice to look back on those memories.
Me three! That's the best part about doing the tree. I'll pull out ornaments from trips I forgot about and enjoy those memories.
I have a bunch from when I was a kid as well. Hopefully DS will appreciate them in adulthood.
Regarding the kids, I think they appreciate things more than they might vocalize. I was guilty of that myself. I never gave my tree much thought growing up and then one year my mom didn't put it up and I was like wait where's the tree lol. I feel like DS would be the same way.
