Zumba Question
I see this class is offered at my gym, but have never seen what it entails lol. I hear the rave but know nothing about it. Does anyone take it? Do you like it? Is it just dancing or ar you actually toning up?

Re: Zumba Question
I took a class at my gym and found it to be more cardio than toning. It was fun to dance around and I did sweat my asss off but personally, I'd rather get my cardio from running or the elliptical. I guess it's all a matter of preference. HTH

Re: Zumba Question
After doing zumba for years, and teaching it, I would say it is fun, and a great workout. However, in terms of it being the primary fitness choice, I would have to say it is far better to use it as a complement to other card activities. My fitness level skyrocketed from spin, running, AND zumba, rather than just Zumba.

Oh no it def wouldnt be a primary fitness choice lol. Im already taking weight training and toning classes along with running and biking. If it sounded like I would like it this, I would add this on one night to my routine

Re: Zumba Question
I HATE the gym. I think treadmill is boring & the elliptical is just not for me. Zumba, for me, is an awesome alternative. I love the music & the pace & I totally break a sweat. Depending on the instructor & the routines chosen it does do some toning. I found my clothes fit better even though the scale stayed the same.

Re: Zumba Question
i love it. usually the classes are an hour long so you def. burn up a sweat and the times goes by really fast. it's a great cardio workout plus some instructors do some toner songs which is great. i'm a huge fan it.

Re: Zumba Question
I would much rather dance around and have fun than get cardio on a treadmill or ellpitical. On the machines I have to monitore my HR to make sure it's getting high enough to be effective. With the right instructor, I know I'm getting a workout.
The main thing is to pick something you will continue to do. I like classes and attend pretty much all of them to keep my workouts varied.
