Re: Can anyone recommend a cardiologist in Suffolk?
Try to find someone that is unaffiliated with Northwell, St. Francis, etc. I have been to several cardiologists. The doctors themselves have been fine but their offices are total circuses. Can't get appointments, non-communicative, sour staff, etc.
Not only that, but the last one I went to was affiliated with St. Francis (Great South Bay Cardiology) and they have this little game they play where they "lease" their equipment from St. Francis so they can bill you at a hospital co-pay. Normally I pay $25 co-pay for doctor's visits. They can bill all of the tests (EKG, Stress test and echo) as separate occurrences. At my last cardiologist, I would get a $75 co-pay bill. When I ended up with a bill for $150 co-pay, I called and they explained this "hospital service" billing game to me. I'm lucky because I have great insurance and I have a $50 hospital visit co-pay but if you have a deductible for hospitals or a higher co-pay, you can get really screwed. So just be aware.
That being said, my favorites were Brian D'Agate and Ezra Deutsch. They have offices in Smithtown and Bay Shore. I only stopped going because a staff member was a complete d!ck to me when I was having a problem and that is a major turn off to me. That was literally 9 years ago though so things may have changed since then.

Thank you! I saw reviews for Great South Bay complaining about the billing method so I may forget that. I have been to Suffolk Heart where the doctors you just mentioned are, but saw someone else. I may try back there since I live close by. Thanks again for all this info!
