Covid vaccine - pediatric trials
Would you sign your child up for the trial? I was reading comments on news12 and didn’t see many who would. Just curious if anyone would? Me....that’s a hard no.

Re: Covid vaccine - pediatric trials
OMG no. I would never use my child as an experiment. I wouldn't even do it myself, but if it came down to me doing it or my child I'd do it first. God forbid something happened I'd never forgive myself

Re: Covid vaccine - pediatric trials
No. I would not let my kids be the experiment. Frankly, I want to see the effect on current pregnant women and their children. I am also sure that younger women will get pregnant post vaccination and I want to see how their kids come out. So the earliest I would be okay with letting my kids get vaccinated is a year from now. My kids are in middle school. My friends with 16 year old kids are getting them vaccinated now.

Re: Covid vaccine - pediatric trials
No never. Unless my child had something wrong with them that put them at risk when getting covid. Covid is wayyyyy safer for children than the flu and I don't even do a flu shot every year.

That’s a hard pass for me. I wouldn’t even give my child the vaccine.

Covid vaccine - pediatric trials
I might. My DS is 100% healthy with no allergies or anything but I would also get him the vaccine now if it was offered to him.

Yeah I am going to say, even if it's approved for children I probably will not allow my children to get it. I said from the beginning, if it is mandated for school in NY that will probably push me over the edge to move down south.

Re: Covid vaccine - pediatric trials
My daughter is very healthy too. And if this was an approved vaccine that had been used for a while- like the flu shot- maybe I'd give it to her. I'm leaning towards no because of how mild Covid is in children, but if the school required it, I wouldn't move or home school, I'd give it to her.
But to have her participate in a trial? Where it's first being tested on children? To me that is nothing more than her being a guinea pig.

Trials?? Nope not a chance. She will only get it down the line if the school mandates it.

Re: Covid vaccine - pediatric trials
I was wondering how that was going to work. I don't have kids, but even my friends who would vaccinate kids if it was approved, wouldn't put them in a trial.

I don't plan on getting it for them for a bit unless it's required.

Yes, I would not put my son in a trial as well even if I was going to vaccinate him.

Same. An FDA approved vaccine, if I feel she needs it and/or it's required for school, fine. She gets all her vaccines on schedule. I even give her the flu shot even though I have never taken that.
But using my child as a test subject - ummm hell no. People won't eat sushi or take a sip of wine while pregnant than the child is born and you hand them over as a test subject to inject something untested into them? People get all up in arms over testing things on animals and they are willing to hand over their child to test something like this???

So true. I wonder if any of those mom are anti-formula feeding moms.

Not the trials. Maybe I would feel differently if my child were being unavoidably exposed to covid, but as it is, no.

I agree with this. Right now o don’t plan on getting it for them or myself as of now. We all had it and I feel confident enough to not rush and get it. However if it’s required for them to got school they will get it because I am not homeschooling and I won’t move just because it’s not mandatory in another state. (Though we are considering moving but a mandatory vaccine wouldn’t make me do it)
I wouldn’t let my kids participate in a trial but clearly there are parents that will. Also I would have to assume every vaccine has to be tested out on kids at Some point so I can’t see this being a new thing.
With the way medicine has evolved over the years I feel like it has to be safer now the back when vaccines started coming out!
