looking for words of encouragement
there is a great position that opened up at work.
i want to throw my name in the hat, but i'm scared.
i have updated my profile in the internal HR/job hunting area to reflect my current position. i have updated my resume. i even told my boss that i MIGHT apply.
but here i am... not applying.
help a sister out, please. i don't know what's holding me back from clicking "apply."

Just do it!! I learned that if I'm scared to do something - I just have to do it quickly. Rip off that band aid. LOL.
Click apply!! You got this!

Yes! Apply! What’s the worst that can happen? You don’t get the job. It’s really a no-lose situation. Just do it!

APPLY!
I applied for my current position even though I wasn't 100 percent on board looking. I have been miserable but I have gained so much experience it made it super easy for me to find another job this go around and at a much higher salary. You never know. Best of luck.

Re: looking for words of encouragement
you have done some amazing things in your life:
you ran a marathon! You raised a son alone and raised him well! you moved cross- country! you've lost a lot of weight and kept it off! and i'm sure many many more incredible things
compared to that, applying for this position is a piece of (healthy for you) cake!
Go for it and god luck!

Re: looking for words of encouragement
I did the same thing in October. I was so on the fence about it. And of course I found out about the opening like 2 days before the deadline to apply. I hemmed and hawed and eventually pulled the trigger, I mean why not? What's the worst that could happen? I don't get it? I still have my old job to fall back on.
I applied. I got it. I have a permanent remote position with higher pay and better benefits in the same company. DO IT!

Words I live by that my dad gave me when I started my job hunt out of college “it doesn’t cost anything to talk”. So never pass up an opportunity for applying or an interview cause you don’t have to take it if you end up not wanting it!!!

Re: looking for words of encouragement
Take the leap. The worst thing that happens is that you don't get the job. The best thing that happens is that you do. But you'll never know if you don't take the chance. Best of luck!!!
