Re: Resuming “normal” life
Wow! Did not expect the turn this thread took!!!!
Thanks to those that responded. I personally feel like we are in a lose lose situation in resuming normal life and it stinks! Take your chances on covid or on the new vaccine. Pick your poison I guess. I appreciate all the varying outlooks. Good to see things through other people’s eyes!

Holy Mary, mother of God. NOBODY is mandated to wear a mask in their car or when walking alone. So if someone else chooses to do it, WHY DO YOU CARE?!? You aren't being forced to do it, it's not mandated. When I leave a store I leave it on until I get to my car, and I'm sorry that you, windy, have no life whatsoever and sit there and ponder why I am wearing my mask until I get to my car. Don't you have anything better to worry about it in your life? I always have my mask with me but I don't always wear it. If I'm alone or walking with my DH in an uncrowded environment, I just have it on my wrist. If we approach an area that's crowded, i put it on. Not because I think I will get covid but because I don't want to make anyone else feel uncomfortable. If wearing a piece of cloth over my nose and mouth for the 1 minute I need to while walking past the person, so be it. There's no weird reason behind it that needs to be researched to the death by someone with nothing better to do. You don't have to, so stop worrying about it. Funny how nobody is allowed to question you when you say you don't believe in the vaccine or social distancing because "that's my right and it's nobody's business" but you spend an awful lot of time worrying about what everyone else is doing. You throw around brainwashed an awful lot, but you seem to be one of the only people on here who comes across as brainwashed, with an irrational fear of government control. News flash: the government isn't going to use wearing masks while alone as a form of government control. Look at North Korea. THAT is government control. Helping slow the spread of a virus that has killed 600,000 Americans and permanently changed the lives of millions of people is not control...its human decency. Things are getting better so things are easing and reopening. Government control would be if we were still in March/April 2020 style lockdown.
You have missed the entire point of this discussion obviously.
So please, oh wise one, tell me what the point of this discussion was? That everything covid related is an attempt at government brainwashing and everyone who cares about covid is misinformed? You really lack brainwaves and all human decency.
How do you even have time to post on here so much with 5 kids? I’m impressed.
I'm sorry but ru effing kidding????? You are on this site AROUND THE CLOCK. Yesterday alone you were posting CONSTANTLY from the early morning until about 1030pm. Pretty funny how you're calling anyone else out when your entire life seems to be LIF and strangers. Sad.
As usual, this is just another VB thread derailment. You need a life.
I actually have had a much fuller life than many have had this past year :)

Honestly this makes no sense. Who are you to judge what is a full life for someone else? Some people need/want to be constantly out and about, socialising with the masses, dining etc. While on the other hand, some people enjoy being home just with their family. I have to be honest, I am truly missing the “quarantine” days to some extent! It might have been my personal fullest life yet! Being home with my kids and my husband - literally for the first time ever since they were little we got to take family walks, runs and bike rides, play board games, chill just us at the beach, use our backyard, ping pong, home cooked family meals together and cooked together at our own table, movie nights ... , I could go on and on! We also got to see my parents more than ever before... for me that was a much much fuller life than the constant out and about we had before - running around in 10 different directions, never home - always out. Some people aren’t comfortable in their own skin, home with their immediate family but for some- that is more living! So point being - your post makes no sense! Your “full” life might not be something envious to other people!

Resuming “normal” life
I was just saying to DH today that a part of me (only a part lol) misses the days of March- May 2020. I do not miss the fear of the unknown or the horrific numbers of people dying, overwhelmed hospitals. I specifically mean the not having to ever be anywhere specific, no rushing around to get kids to school, activities, playdates, weekend family obligations, etc. Every night after dinner we would take a family walk or bike ride. We would do lots of family movie nights before bed, tried out tons of new dinner recipes, ate together every single night, and my twins developed a passion for art. They never would have had time to discover that if we weren't home for two months looking for things to do. I thought I was so depressed and so anxious with staying home- but in retrospect, I think the unknown and the scary stuff going on in the world is what made me practically suicidal. The struggles of the healthcare workers, so many losing loved ones, it was too much. But I do miss that family time. We rarely go to a restaurant anymore, when it comes to committing to things on the weekends with family and friends, we say yes to less. We make sure to have dinner together at minimum 5 nights a week, and my kids do less extracurricular activities than they did before. We now live a simpler life, and because of that I will be forever grateful for those 8 weeks stuck at home.

Though we don’t agree many times I truly get this. I told my husband the other day that stupid Covid commercial (or whatever you want to call it) with that somber music makes me tense up and I cringe as that was when no one knew what was going on and afraid of this all. I did enjoy the slowing down for a bit, still not having to jump out of bed at 5 and getting fully ready to go to work. My kids are older so it was very different and the schooling was horrible so that was not something that was enjoyable. Nothing really changed for my husband as he never stopped working out of the house. We pretty much have gone back to normal things for almost a year now though. Seeing friends, shopping, eating out, getting hair and nails done, schooling, traveling. My kids are still missing out on seeing family though and haven’t seen their cousins since June which at this point it is ridiculous as this family is fully vaccinated.

I must be a very different person because I hate home cooked meals and can't sit through a movie that my daughter would be interested in and vice versa. We just doubled down on take out when they wouldn't let us eat in restaurants for those few months. I found being stuck home boring AF. Different strokes for different folks i guess...

In the beginning it was all new and different. After while though everything becomes mundane. On the weekends I have always needed to get out of the house even 1 day and that was when I was went to the office too so I wasn’t home all week.

You're literally one of most pathetic, insecure people I've ever seen on a forum in my life. What a joke.

Resuming “normal” life
Started living a normal life as soon as possible. I really hate these masks. I feel like we are in some sort of alternate universe or a cult or something. I wear them but I don't like it. Masks do not feel normal to me. Yes I know many countries/cultures have been wearing them but they are not a part of my culture. You know how when something just drives you crazy but it doesn't bother others as much, that is what masks are to me.

I didn't like the way the world felt at that time but we tend to lean towards being homebodies so having the extra time to stay at home with DH and the kids was really nice. I enjoyed having our calendar open. It was great having having more time to bake, cook, read, sleep in, relax, etc. It wasn't all bad except for remote learning, I definitely don't miss that. LOL

I actually have gotten a lot done this weekend. In and out of house both days.

You're literally one of most pathetic, insecure people I've ever seen on a forum in my life. You spend all of your time trying to convince everyone how much better you are than them when in reality if your life was so "full" you would not have 40 screen names and be on LIF AROUND THE CLOCK. What a joke.
AROUND THE CLOCK? Hmm I think you are exaggerating just a little bit lololol
I actually have gotten a lot done this weekend. In and out of house both days.
Rapid fire VB, you post and she answers in 5 seconds flat. Every day, all day.
Who are you trying to kid? You live for this site. LOL

I was actually going to name all the things I already did today, besides being on here but figured didn’t want to bore anyone.

Resuming “normal” life
I keep having dreams that no one is wearing masks and I feel weird and nervous about it. I hate those dreams. I hate that not wearing masks makes me uncomfortable. I hope soon we won't have to and the nightmares are of people in masks.

I have actual dreams of being maskless and it's the best feeling ever. Then I wake up and get depressed to realize we're still living this nightmare over a year later.

And still have no clue when we will be allowed to be maskless (at least some states) by the CDC as they won’t give the number of people that need to be vaccinated to do so.

I am very much looking forward to the day when we can burn these masks! I hate them more than anything, it will be so nice to walk into a store again and not think twice about having something covering your face.

I posted legitimate questions on this thread but I derailed it?
Let me know how I don’t have a life but everyone who answers me does. Some days, some post more than others. Didn’t know there was a limit to how many posts you can make online before you have to get off and do god knows what you think we all should be doing.
"Legitimate questions".
Yup, why do people wear masks when they are all by themselves with no one around and don’t expect to run into anyone walking or when they are in their car?
For the love of... you have gotten SEVERAL answers as to WHY people wear masks while alone or in the car.... Can you read? THey forgot to take it off, they are considerate for OTHER people.. I know foreign concept for you probably... whatever the other reasons they gave. WHY DO YOU CARE???

I was in Target with my daughter on Saturday and for some reason I was having a harder time than normal with the mask. I felt like I was eating the fabric, I felt suffocated, I was getting panicky. Maybe it was the type of mask, but I felt very suffocated. I wanted to just shop fast and leave but she wanted to look at some clothes and I felt bad but I was struggling. I kept pulling it down real quick to grab a breath. Then when we left the mask was all wet and gross and I wanted to puke. lol

I think once it gets warmer too it gets harder to wear them especially if the stores don’t have ac on. Many times my husband has gone into stores with me and has to walk out as it is hard to breathe with a mask on.

I completely understand how you feel. As I have mentioned before, I am severely claustrophobic so the masks are really difficult for me to wear. It's made even worse when the store is hot or the kids are making me stressed because it triggers panic mode. It's the worst.

I've been having a harder time recently too. My voice is drying out more quickly as I'm teaching, and I'm having to take more breaks at the gym. IDK if maybe it's from the warmer weather.
