Neighbor question

Neighbor question

Our next door neighbors have what I think were meant to be hedges along the property line. I'm not sure what they looked like when they were planted but they are now completely overgrow, with huge weeds engulfing them. They grow more up than out so not much is technically on our property. The weeds are anywhere from 4-8ft tall depending on the spot.

Anyway, beyond being a complete eyesore, they have now grown above the power lines coming from our house. I don't know if this is an issue.

Is there anything I can do? I'm not sure they even realize. They have a large, irregularly shaped property and may be trimming the hedges on their side.

Neighbor question

There’s really nothing you can do other than ask them to cut them. My parents have this issue.

Re: Neighbor question

If they are in the power lines, you may be able to contact PSE&G.

You can trim what's on your side, but dont mess with the power lines.

Thanks. I had a feeling there was nothing I could do. It’s just so ugly.

Also apparently they aren’t power lines, they’re phone lines. Oops.

Re: Neighbor question

Call the phone company. They will cut them down a lot.

The thought had crossed my mind to have the landscaper just chop it all down. I'm seriously not sure they would notice. I've also never met them.

Re: Neighbor question

You could probably call the town. It maybe against som town ordinance but I’m know most people will say you should talk to them first. Maybe offer them help But personally I probably wouldn’t. Though I don’t know if I would call the town either lol.
So really I am not sure how helpful my comment is. Chat Icon LOL sorry!
