One of my employees and his wife who are fully vaccinated have Covid along with there two little kids. One of the kids had a fever for a day but they have been fine since. He and his wife were a little down a few days ago.
They really need to work on this vaccine more.
There is no shame in saying wait, this may not be working properly and going back and improving it. Rather than forcing it on everyone when it's proving to be not even that effective. How about a pause and some reworking? I'd be happy to take a vaccine that #1- works like it's supposed to And #2- has been out long enough to be proven safe

Exactly. They are so deep though no one wants to admit this vaccine is not doing what they claimed it would. They will double down until they die before they admit it.
My friend and her husband both fully vaccinated and both have COVID. They got it from her MIL and her home attendant who are both also vaccinated. Thankfully her kids show no signs but to me 4 vaccinated people gave each other COVID...how effective is the vaccine?

It's not and the numbers will keep going down and no one really knows how long it will last for them. So the whole "vaccinated people only allowed" makes no sense as you don't know if they are truly vaccinated anymore.

Does anyone work in a hospital in pediatrics? What are you seeing- kids coming in because of Covid OR kids coming for one thing and testing positive? Are kids filling up hospitals?
I had to take my son to PM Pediatrics last night and waited for over 2 hours! I have never had that there before. They said they had 3x the amount of patients this month than what they normally have. They told me that they are seeing a lot of Covid but they also said they have not really sent anyone to the hospital so that was reassuring.
That doesn't really answer your question either but I just thought I would share.

Re: Covid hospitalization # question
Hospitalizations by Age/In Hospital Deaths by Age
Maybe this will help.
You can sort by age for the top graph. I don't know why the news is reporting that we are seeing all time highs for pediatric hospitalizations when there are clearly other periods with higher weekly numbers.
You can also scroll down and sort through to see underlying conditions, in-hospital deaths by age, etc.

Covid hospitalization # question
Just wanted to throw in a reminder that the vaccine doesn’t prevent covid. It simply downgrades it to a nuisance in most cases.
I think I read you have a 1 in 26 shot at getting covid if you’re vaccinated. 1 in 13 if you aren’t.

So someone on our local fb group posted that they had a LONG wait and they said they are seeing tons of RSV in kids and believe it or not, starting to see flu. But all “winter” sicknesses are starting now. So I’d assume the actual winter will be a $hitshow

I don't have a specific answer to your questions, but just to clarify something - Unless it's a children's hospital, kids will not ever "fill up" a hospital. Hospitals are licensed for a certain number of beds of specific types - x number of pediatric beds, x number of ICU beds etc. They cannot just randomly decide to make a bed available for a patient who needs an ICU bed if one is not available. Similarly, they cannot make a bed a pediatric bed because none are available in the pediatric unit. So, if the pediatric beds are filled, the next child either waits in the ER or has to be transferred to another hospital.

Is there a way to find out if that’s children who went to the hospital because of Covid? Or was it children, like my sons friend, who went in for a concussion and got Covid tested (no clue why) and tested positive but was there for something else?
As school starts and masks are being discussed I’m just trying to understand what the numbers really are and if they are as scary as they sound.
From an article I just read regarding children hospitalizations in Alabama:
Alabama Hospital Association President Dr. Don Williamson highlighted in an interview with APR that while last year, many of the cases of children being hospitalized with Covid-19 were “almost incidental, ancillary observations” while a kid was being treated for something else, the trend is different today: “These are kids who are in the hospital because they have Covid,” he said.

Covid hospitalization # question
I had the vaccine -- all family members have had (except my kids who are too young )-- my dad's first cousin's wife, who we were close with, has held off on getting the vaccine ....she got it and dropped dead last week, 10 days after the vaccine - they believe likely from a clot (she had some history of clots and did not consult her dr before gettign shot -- went upstairs to get dressed and her husband found her dead on the bed) -- we are all devestated. She was only 64 years old. It does make me think twice about getting it for my kids -- but its like being put between a rock and a hardplace -- we will probably get it when available for them because I'm still of the mind set that the risk i slow -- but man its sooooo scary. terrible decisions to have to make -- I couldnt live iwth myself though if they ended up in the hospital from covid too --- i dont know.

Oh wow so sorry. When I first heard about clots with the Johnson and Johnson I almost begged my friend to please watch herself as I was worried about her. It is so scary.

When someone keeps being pushed in different ways to make a decision, it’s no longer a choice.
Question...once the covid vaccine gets to be mandated for children in school, meaning it’s either the child gets vaccinated or stops attending school, do u think this child deserves an education from an educational institution like public schools, private, etc?
Wait you mean the way it is already now in NY. Where was everyone when they got rid of religious and medical Exceptions For vaccines. When tons of kids were kicked out of school cause their parents didn’t want them vaccinated so now they home school! The only ones that made an uproar where the parents it effected?!!
Do I think vaccines should be mandated I lean always more towards no but that also doesn’t mean I don’t get where the other side is coming from.
So with that said I don’t think it was already fair that kids now can’t go to school vaccinated but it was a choice their parents had and they made them. While it sucks it currently is the law (mandate not really sure if the correct term) And even if you didn’t like the choices you still had a choice you can vaccinate send your kids or don’t keep them home and homeschool them. You could move out of the state or even the country. Is it easy to do that no but it is still a choice. You may not like your options but you are still given a choice. You are not told you have to do something like you are told in other parts of the world where you really have no choice.
I know about the elimination of religious exemption way too well...I was one of those parents making an uproar and giving those dirty legislators hell. My family is one of those thousands of families that got affected. Before the bill to eliminate religious exemptions passed into law, I made limitless phones calls, sent emails, attended protests, brought awareness to other parents, met legislators locally, in Albany, in DC, showed them the importance of keeping our religious exemptions and why. We even attempted to meet Cuomo in person several times with no success. This MFer would be in his office and he’d tell his secretary to tell us he wasn’t there, he’d even call guards to stay in front of his office. I knew back then that any future vaccine that would be added to the already existing schedule, would automatically be mandatory to keep children attending school. They (those pieces of sh!t politicians) knew it too. It had nothing to do with religion or the health of children, they were setting the path for future vaccines. They even had the balls to modify medical exemptions and making it extremely hard to obtain one, ur child pretty much needs to have a near death experience to be able to have one and even then, it’ll be up to the school and their doctor to approve it, a doctor that has never seen ur child.
My question was more about what ur thoughts were if indeed it became mandatory, in other words added to the vaccine schedule. Sure, kids wouldn’t be able to go school any longer. But do u think that’s fair. That was pretty much my question. I asked u because ur post came across, at least to me, as...’everyone should make a choice but if they choose to not vaccinate then too bad for them, they have to live with whatever consequence comes their way and better not complain about it.’ While I do agree with u about every person choosing what’s best for their family, it’s not that simple. “Making a choice” is not black and white and although technically there’s always a choice for everything, even for death, it shouldn’t be considered “making a choice” when u’re pushed to that choice, when that choice that’s given to u brings u hardship, adversities, when u have very difficult times and struggles. So yes, although back then NY gave parents like me the “choice” to homeschool or move, those choices are not what we wanted for our family...at all. This is why I deeply emphasize with parents who are or soon will be in that same situation. When a choice -that u don’t want- is given to u, it’s not the same as u making that choice to begin with, it’s very, very different.

Ok well then you know exactly how unfair it is.
Like I said in my post I do lean towards that It should not be mandatory but I can see some arguments why it should be.
And I get what you are saying though it’s a choice your basically pushed into it with no real way of choosing what you really want.
I’ll be honest if they make the vaccine mandatory for school my kids will be getting it even if I am unsure I want them too cause I will not homeschooling and I don’t want to move. Not because I can’t move but for some odd reason I jist can’t leave LI. I debated moving for months and months and ultimately decided i can’t. And I don’t even think mandatory vaccines will make me!

Exactly and we are pushing this vaccine but still want people to mask up because, you know, it’s not working. Hence why many are hesitant to take it until it truly is working and less breakthroughs are happening.

Re: Covid hospitalization # question
Did they really need to do this study?? Of course the N95 are more effective, this was common knowledge from the very beginning of the pandemic.
However due to the amount that they needed for hospital workers, and the fact that they’re one-time use, they just weren’t available to the general public. But something is absolutely better than nothing.

It is working. The vaccine was intended to keep people out of the hospital and keep them from dying. If you look at the vaccine statistics of COVID hospitalized and dead, it is absolutely doing that.
