This is fine as long as overweight people pay more, smokers pay more, people who engage in more dangerous hobbies and professions pay more, etc.

Not "stupid" as the vast majority of individuals that are getting COVID and ending up with severe disease, ending up in the hospital are unvaccinated. Obviously nothing is 100%, but those vaccinated have more protection than those without and are much less likely to strain the hospital system. The unvaccinated cost the collective community more money to treat when they get sick. You can have your rights, but you should have to pay for it when it affects the communal good.
NY is now mandating masks in schools even for the vaccinated. It is because the unvaccinated are putting us all at risk. It is the truth and someone should have to bear the cost of the irresponsibility.

Please show me data of what the number is of vaccinated and what the number is of unvaccinated from the positive numbers coming out each day with Covid.

How are overweight people paying more? Not morbidly obese who might need a second seat on an airplane or special clothes.
Smokers many pay more life insurance but what else?
Again life insurance for dangerous hobbies but how else?

Overweight people can (and do) pay more for health insurance and life insurance. Same as smokers and people with risky hobbies.

For health insurance though - there’s no more underwriting so a healthy person gets charged the same as someone who is not healthy (that’s why Obamacare isn’t affordable as they could do longer underwrite so they priced towards a higher risk).

Exactly so trying to figure out what else they get charged extra for.

Life insurance yes. Health insurance no My DH was very overweight and his health insurance was no more of a premium than mine. They didn't ask one medical question when he got his health insurance. My health insurance does not either. I have never heard of anyone who got health insurance through their job that had to have a physical or their weight.

Re: Make the unvaccinated pay more....
And don't the majority of people...a large percent...vaccinated or not...who get Covid recover at home with no medical intervention? Anyone have a statistic on all the people who tested positive for Covid and the percentage of those who.ebded up hospitalized and costing their insurance money? I'd bet it's pretty small. This is just more nonsense to force people to get a vaccine. Period, end of story.

I guess people don't understand this fact. Nobody is charging you more for health insurance if you are unhealthy. And didn't they protect pre existing conditions too? So someone with diabetes or cancer has to be insured. And they pay the same as someone with ni illnesses. So that argument is out the window. I can't believe people don't know this!

Make the unvaccinated pay more....
delta airlines already started this. I believe it's an extra $400/month for health insurance if you refuse the vaccine. Honestly, it's SMART... To the people on here saying vaccinated are still going to the hospital: data is showing over 97% of all new covid cases are from UNVACCINATED individuals and a great deal of deaths are from the same camp. If you want to refuse the vaccine because it's "your right" then you need to pay up I feel. Because it's not "your right" when it directly affects the public. I'm sick of adults acting like children over this. Get the vaccine and let our country get back on it's feet. People in other countries are livid because they would do anything for access to the vaccine, meanwhile Americans are actually refusing it.

Again I ask...what is the percentage of people who test positive for Covid that end up hospitalized? Let's say 1000 people test positive today. How many end up hospitalized vs how many recover at home? Why would someone have to pay $400 more a month for the TINY chance they'll end up hospitalized from Covid? It makes no sense. So let's say I go the whole year and avoid Covid. Health insurance pays nothing on me. Nada. Do I get a refund og my $400 /month premiums? I should right? No? Why? Because it's punishment and not a premium? Got it.

The CDC has recent data stating that unvaccinated people are about 5 times more likely to catch COVID-19 and are about 29 times more likely to be hospitalized with Covid 19. So it seems that while the vaccines do not prevent all Covid infections they do seem to have a positive effect in reducing serve infection resulting in hospitalizations. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/08/24/cdc-study-shows-unvaccinated-people-are-29-times-more-likely-to-be-hospitalized-with-covid.html

Make the unvaccinated pay more....
Some companies levy additional insurance premiums for overweight and obese employees.
Yes: Your BMI could affect how much you pay for your health insurance premium.
Here's why: Under the Affordable Care Act, group health plans can adopt wellness program that base people's premiums on their health status. The law says these so-called "health-contingent wellness programs" can give people discounts on their premiums – or charge them more – depending on whether they meet certain health goals, like normal weight or blood pressure, according to a recent report from the Kaiser Family Foundation.

No, broken down numbers we want. 500 tested positive today, 300 were unvaccinated, 200 vaccinated. (Example). They can EASILY do that but it would ruin their fear tactic that everyone hospitalized is unvaccinated when many don’t go to the hospital and they ALL could be positive vaccinated cases.

Bottom line is that it is total BS. It is another way to force people to get a shot that every day is shown to be less safe and less effective. Employers have zero reason to mandate it since it does not protect against transmission.
I am old enough to remember a time when an employer forcing something inside an employee’s body as a condition of employment was frowned upon.

Did u know if you go to the hospital with one shot, you are considered unvaccinated. You got the hospital with both shots but it isn’t been 14 days yet since you got the second, you are considered unvaccinated. Now some places (like Israel) if you don’t have the third shot you are unvaccinated.
Oh and by the way the cdc even came out and said that they weren’t counting people who test positive and have the vaccine
