How do I get rid of cable?
We have optimum and it’s time to get rid of it, we don’t watch enough of it to justify the increasing cost. We obviously need to keep the WiFi. But I think I’m just scared because I don’t know how to do it. Am I going to turn all these TV’s back on to a blank screen? Help
Here’s the story:
5 TV’s: 3 of them are Smart TV’s 2 of them are not (assuming I need a fire stick or something for them?)
Basic channels are watched as well as things like TLC, MTV, HGTV and NICKJR (we are so lame). So what will get me these channels back without cable? And what’s your approximate cost per month for it?
Is there a company that can come in and set up all the TV’s for me?!
Thanks for any help or advice

How do I get rid of cable?
I had fios and got rid of it a few months ago. I called fios and told them I just wanted to keep internet. Within a day or two they had cut off tv service. I was told I could return all of the boxes within 30 days (was able to bring them to a UPS store).
I have Rokus for my TVs. I started with Hulu live but didn’t love it so switched to YouTube TV. They offer pretty much the same channels- at least as far as what I watch, including regular network channels and most, if not all of the ones you mentioned.
I put off cutting the cord for too long, thinking it seemed too complicated, but it really was simple. I was paying a ridiculous amount to fios every month. Changing over was so worth it

We cut the cord 8 years ago and I’ve never missed cable. We have Netflix and Amazon prime. We also have a digital antenna for local TV.
For some of the stations you listed, you can find comparable shows on the providers you listed. For Nick Jr and Disney channel, I suggest getting videos from your library. My son has never had those channel but still knows all the characters on shows like Paw Patrol, PJ Masks, etc.

we have firesticks on the TVs. We cancelled cable and use netflix, hulu etc. through the firesticks. I use my parent's cable log in to get access to bravo, nbc, etc. on demand through their apps

Re: How do I get rid of cable?
How much cheaper is it to separate it all? We have tv, internet and phone all together and pay $192.
I see people getting this and that and losing a lot of stations and some paying more.

We’re saving at least $150 a month. We’d have Netflix and Prime even if we had cable. We are actually thinking of getting rid of prime too since we rarely use it.

That is great. We can’t really go much lower with the cable bill as we have tried and then add on the internet and phone I don’t think we could save like that.

We just switched to Directv stream and I love it. We had Directv satellite previously. It’s cheaper and the picture quality is better. We get all the channels we got on Directv.
