Your Xmas tree
I did a minimalist tree, i.e. I was too lazy.
Thank god the cat didn’t knock over the tree, but he’s eyeing it . And I know he looks super imposed in this photo, but he really is just big.
So what’s your tree look like?

Re: Your Xmas tree
OMG I love your kittie! What a face! What kind of cat is that?
My tree is all white lights and I do all silver and glittery ornaments and decorations. I love how it looks- everything just sparkles- but the glitter is an issue when taking it down and putting it up. It's always all over me and everything else.
I was concerned because i have 2 new cats this year that I didn't have last Xmas and they are young and wild. I thought for sure they'd be climbing it or knocking it down, but so far they have been quite disinterested in it other than to sleep under it. I got lucky!

You have two new cats?! You need to pay the cat tax.
He’s a British Shorthair. They are known for their fat faces (especially the males) and the stout body. The Cheshire Cat is this breed. I have an older cat as well, so he just kind of hangs out by it. He’s not as active anymore.
I hear you about the glitter. My glitter is pine needles .

Re: Your Xmas tree
I have a hard time posting pictures so I will just describe lol.
I have a fake 7 ft tree. I am disappointed right now as a stand of the lights went out but it won’t ruin my holiday, I will just have to see if something is loose when I take it down.
I collect ornaments so my tree is a mishmash of things the kids have made in school, things we have gotten at places we have gone to. Gifts to the kids and us. Hundreds of things on the tree. If I have the patience, I might count this year. My husband actually helped take them out and hand them to me and he was like, there is more? Umm yeah that’s why I am exhausted after doing it lol. I have an angel on top and 2 different types of ribbon around the tree. Tree skirt and looking to get a tree collar maybe next year.

Funny you mention a tree collar. I want one, but the skirt was difficult to buy here. I got it off Amazon for like $20. The collars are like $100 on Amazon here. I asked SO, what do you guys use? He said wrapping paper instead of skirts. I guess that makes sense since they (in the countryside) put real candles and need the wrapping paper to collect the wax. Yeah, no. That’s a fire hazard.

Your Xmas tree
That cat is so handsome!! I haven’t done a tree in about 8 years but since my baby will be here next year, I think I’ll buy a tree on clearance after the holidays and do it up next year. I want it to feel magical.

We took in an elderly Himalayan from my FIL when he had to be put in a nursing home. She ended up passing away. Then our own cat passed away over the summer. So we ebded up rescuing one cat, then the other. Back up to a 2 cat household!

Oh wow very interesting. I saw 2 for $40 in Target last week but of course passed them by and went to get them this week and they were gone. Honestly I think I am going to undecorate Sunday or early next week. It is getting too cluttered.

I hear ya. I hate clutter. I want to clear it out ASAP. I need clean lines. I like white walls and neutral colors. It keeps my life much simpler. Maybe next year I will work on getting a tree collar. But for now, it will do.

I have my sights on a Maine Coon or a Norwegian forest cat. One day. But I think I may do an older cat next time. I can’t handle kittens anymore.

I have to move my couch and it is just in the way of walking around. Everyone puts their stuff in the middle of the decorations because there is no other room for it. It’s nice the first few days and then it is like ok I’m done lol

Yeah, I got rid of half my sectional a few months ago. I didn’t need it (I was able to connect two other pieces together). I didn’t want to vacuum it anymore. That made way for an Xmas tree this year. I cannot take clutter at all. Minimalist all the way. I sold so much stuff. I live with the bare minimum and I am very happy.

I have no freaking clue how you do it! I always think maybe I’ll get a second tree in my office or bedroom, but then I usually change my mind after the first tree. I was done when I started the tree. I just ran out of patience this year.
Thanks everyone! Tree is still standing and no broken ornaments, yet.

One of my friends, friends (lol) has a huge house, pool inside, decorates to the nines. It is absolutely amazing. She has so many trees and decorations. I LOVE seeing the pictures every year when she has her annual get together.
Honestly, if I didn't have people coming over for the holidays, I probably would have done less this year. To decorate like that and not share it is not worth the time and hassle.
