Lawyer for Abuse
My neighbor lives in a home owned by an agency that is there to give people (women in this home) an affordable home who have issues but are self sufficient in life. They currently have a roommate who has broken into her room, stolen her camera and other items in her room, stolen her mail (she knows as the woman mentions things in the letters she gets and then finds the mail hidden). She has stolen and hidden other things in the house. The roommate has poured down the 2nd woman's shower products, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc down the sink. She has stolen her packages and hid them. The agency, whom I will not name but they are located in Medford is just trying to get these 2 out of the home so they don't have to deal with the one roommate who is the real issue. This has been going on for almost 2 years. They never did a background check on this woman as she has an extensive rap sheet and the case workers will not call my one neighbor back nor come to see her. She has wrote emails to the agency and no one gets back to her. She calls the emergency number at times the agency is closed and still no one gets back to her.
My husband and I have personally tried to help her with emails, calls, talks with the police, nothing.
I told her she needs a lawyer no matter if she moves out or not as this agency is doing NOTHING to help these 2 women out and they spend their entire days, when not at work or elsewhere out of the home, in their bedrooms as they don't want to deal with this woman.
She was on hold for 25 minutes with HUD yesterday she said but had to get off as she was working.
Can ANYONE help these 2?

Perhaps reach out to their Suffolk County legislator. I assume the county is involved with their arrangements. Perhaps they can steer you

You have gotten good suggestions here. A few others would be to contact Touro Law School they have a legal clinic that might be able to help. Also, call Nassau Suffolk Law Services. They too might be able to offer advice or representation.

Yes we have our town legislator who has contacted the company multiple times as he holds grants for the home and STILL nothing has been done.
