Spinoff- If you sub

What are some things that you find or would find helpful for teachers to leave for you to make your day easier in their classroom. I always feel bad and know it can be stressful being w/ a group you don't know. We were just recently asked to prepare a sub folder containing allergy info, bus list, roster, typical schedule etc.) Wondering if there's anything I should add.

For the most part, most teachers leave great plans all ready to go..

If youre asking what things can go wrong that teachers can avoid to make life easier for the subs..Chat Icon hmmmm...

here are a few, but theyre no big deal, they just happen once in a while...

*sometimes they write what page in a book and dont specify which book (lets say math) and im fishing through their shelves looking through 5 different math books, and many times the students have no clue either Chat Icon (usually in cases where its a math class made up of students from 3-4 different classes).. so leave the books with the plans! (although MOST teachers do! Chat Icon)

*Refer to the correct book in your plans! some teachers will write "the grammar packet" and there will be a booklet called Shining Stars REading and Writing (just made that up) how are we supposed to know what youre talking about??Chat Icon or sometimes it just refers to a handmade "Grammar packet" in the kids folders.. so it can be confusing if you dont specify, which can save time in many cases...

thats about it... and it irks me if a teacher has planned absences and terrible plans... there's no excuse Chat Icon Chat Icon

and PLEASE tell your students to NOT constantly say
"what do I do when Im done?"
"what do I do when Im done?"
"what do I do when Im done?"
"what do I do when Im done?"

I love when teachers have a "what to do when your done" list of options for them. Chat Icon
otherwise they start coming up with this whole fantasy-world list of what they CAN do Chat Icon "go outside and play if we're good, sketch, do our homework" ohhhh, the things they try to talk a sub into, if you teachers could be a fly on the wall Chat Icon
Luckily, there's always 1 or 2 "goody goodies" Chat Icon who keep it real for me Chat Icon
