Anyone else have horses?
Just curious to know if there are any other horse owners out there.
I have two. These pictures are a little old, but the best I can do at work!
Joey
And Phaxxton
Phaxxton no longer jumps, but I still like looking at the pictures before we realized dressage was more his thing. (Of course, now with my busy work schedule, etc., both are just semi-retired pleasure mounts and trail horses!)
Both were rescues. (I got Joey through a rescue organization and Phaxxton from a woman who purchased him out of a very bad abuse / neglect situation.)
They are my babies.

I used to ride throughout HS and College but never had my own horse.
Not much room in MY backyard, lol!! Funny cuz on Sunday we were by Bethpage park and there were people out riding and I told DH when this baby is born I plan to go riding this summer.... I miss it...
Wanna be my new buddy??

Well, I don't keep them in my own backyard -- I WISH!!
I board them in a small backyard barn, though - out near Connetquot Park.
It's nice to "meet" other horsey people, though!
When I moved back to NY after living in NC for some time to go to law school, I was able to meet so many new friends through riding that I otherwise wouldn't have met. It was really nice to have non-law-related friends.
Plus, how can you not love this face?

That's how I feel about people with dogs.  My schedule and my FI's work schedules just don't lend to having a dog right now, and neither does our apartment... I can't wait until life slows down so we can get a great dane and a rescue pup.
But for now I have my hands full with these boys!
