Should I be worried?!?!
DS is 4 wks old and it seems over the past week he has been crying almost like someone just stabbed him, mostly after feeding, but not every feeding and mostly in the evening.
Last night was the worst. I gave him his 10pm bottle, 5 ozs (he gets 4-5 during the day and 5 at night to help sleep more) and after he was done he started wailing. I changed his diaper (he'd pooped just before feeding) tried swaddling (he usually passes right out w/ that), singing, humming, burping (he'd had 3 good burps while feeeding). I thenk (after 1 hr) gave him a little bottle (we have a few 1-2 oz bottles for between feedings or if 4 oz is not enough). Over 30-45 min he took that 2 ozs. but was still wailing.
DH (who works nights) called that he was on the way home, I explained what was going on, DH suggested giving mylicon drops again (we give them at each feeding). I did this and DS passed out on my shoulder.
Now, while he is crying he fiercely kicks his legs, throws his arms around, arches back and his face turns beet red. Sometimes it's like he exhausts all the air in his lungs then takes s deep breath to do it all over again.
Should I be concerned?!?! He goes to the Dr on Saturday, I want to move the appt to Friday or tomorrow, but DH said to just leave it for Sat.
TIA!!!!

Re: Should I be worried?!?!
It is so hard when your baby is hurting! Have you tried pushing his knees up to his belly, or "turning" them like a bicycle motion? Also, sometimes a warm washcloth on the belly might work. If it's gas, sometimes these things help. When you are at the ped., let him/her know about your concerns, and be specific. How long after eating does it start? How long does it take to calm down? Could it be the formula? If you are very concerned, move your ped. appt. up. There is nothing worse than the helplessness you feel when your baby cries and is obviously hurting, and you can't figure out how to help! Good luck and hugs! Jen

Re: Should I be worried?!?!
It sounds like he may have reflux. I would mention this to your doctor when you see him. My DD had this and cried whenever she ate. She is on medication now and doing much better.

Sounds like he may have gas. When feeding him, do you stop in between to burp him? This might help. You may want to ask your Ped on Saturday about it and also you may want to discuss about the formula.

Thank you!! One thing making it worse is DH doesn't get to see this side of DS. As I said it's not every feeding, and DH does the 2am feeding, and this doesn't happen then!
DS was on Similac Advance, was not burping and spitting up alot. Ped changed him to Nestle Good Start two weeks ago, and all has been good, til last week. Sometimes this crying starts right after he finishes bottle, sometimes 5-10 min after. Also, he'll cry for 2-3 min then stop for 10 min then start up again out of nowhere.
I have tried the legs kicks, rubbing his tummy, turning hom on his side (on the chg table b/c he loves it there) on his belly, on his back...some things work some of the times, but I have not found the real fix.
Thanks...I may see if I can move the appt up. I told DH "Do I need to have 2 more nights like the last few nights?!?!"

Yes, I stop approx every 1 1/2 ozs. MOST of the time he burps, but not all the time. We've been giving him Mylicon drops for about 2 1/2 weeks now.
Last night he had burped a few times while feeding, good ones too. And while trying to console him, he did burp a few more times.
