? to those of you using Alli
Have any of you had any side effects?? Not just the real unpleasant ones, this drug is known for, but any minor side effects???
I know you can keep the side effects at bay by sticking with a low fat diet, but what happens if one day you fall off the wagon and you over endulge, on low fat foods? Like a huge bowl of pasta with fat free sauce or something?

Re: ? to those of you using Alli
I've been using it for almost 5 weeks and have not had any major treatment effects. A time or two I've seen some oil pools after using the bathroom but it's nothing like the urgent explosions or leaks they talk about - they were controllable.
If you overindulge in a low fat meal you won't get treatment effects - but those calories would count towards your daily allowance and would ultimately effect your loss/gain.
The diet is alot about the lifestyle change, like WW is - so they would not advocate an overindulgence even though it might not be bad for you in the 'fat explosion' sense. The diet actually goes farther than I go with it - they specify the number of calories you should have per meal and what percentage of fat you should have daily. (ie. only 30% of your calories should come from fat, like what the national heart association recommends). As I get closer to goal this type of counting may get important to me - but now just the fact that I am eating reduced calorie, fat and the pills are doing fine by me.

Hmm.. how to put this gently...
It depends on how much fat you eat. If I eat up to the fat limit for the day, I'll probably have an extra bowel movement that night or the next morning. Nothing uncontrollable or urgent, just another one. Most times I don't eat all the allocated fat grams so I'll have the same amount that I had before taking the medication.
Also not to sound gross, they are a tad softer than usual, and have an orange tinge - it makes sense considering you are passing fat in your stool.
