Emailing in your reservations (Italy)

I emailed 2 hotels in Italy to book a hotel room, but I haven't heard back from either.

How long would you wait for a reply before you start seaching out other options?

Is there a toll free number you can call to see if they received the reservation?

Or else maybe have a travel agent see if they can get you a reservation...

I know my uncle made an online reservation when he went to Greece and when he got to the hotel they didn't have his reservation even though he had the online confirmation with him....so I would double check everything.

The hotel we stayed at in Rome responded the same day to my email. Keep in mind though, the time difference. I'd see if there's a number to call or, I'd move on because I'm a worrier like that.
