Bleeding gums

I'm in the 2WW and yes, I'm analyzing EVERYTHING.

Just brushed my teeth and had bleeding gums - this doesn't not usually happen unless I brush VERY hard -- and I wasn't at all. Is this a pregnancy symptom, and if so, would I experience this only 9dpo?

Re: Bleeding gums

I believe it is a pg symptom. That said, I've also had bleeding gums in the 2ww ( which I normally don't have), but unfortunately, I wasn't pg. Hope it's a good sign for you though.

Re: Bleeding gums

Thanks for the info - just thought it was strange that I had bleeding gums out of no where when I wasn't even brushing hard. Something else for me to obsess over Chat Icon

Chat Icon is that a sign? My gums have been bleeding a little the past few days when I brushed...

Re: Bleeding gums

It could be a symptom. My gums were very sensitive when I was pregnant with DD & I bled everytime I brushed my teeth.

That was my only symptom with my BFP. I didn't read into it too much but I too, never had bleeding gums before when brushing my teeth. Good luck!Chat Icon Chat Icon

How early before your BFP did your gums start to bleed? I've had bleeding gums a long time ago in the past when I brush REALLY hard, but I wasn't brushing hard at all -- and they were bleeding again this morning..

I am 9dpo.....

Pretty early so I don't know if it was an actual symptom, but I know I normally don't get bleeding gums. I tested and got a BFP at 9 DPO with an Equate test (they are sold at Walmart, and very sensitive). I didn't get bleeding gums with my first pregnancy, just with this one. Good luck!

Re: Bleeding gums

Thanks for the info!

I've never had bleeding gums prior to this before AF, so maybe it's a symptom. I'm 9dpo and want to test - but I'm patiently TRYING to wait.

I've heard that this is a symptom of pregnancy, but not an early one. That it starts closer to 12 weeks. You never know though!

I also agree...it has to do with the flow of your blood which usually increases later in the pregnancy.....

Re: Bleeding gums

When I looked it up online it says that it is a symptom due to increased progesterone levels in the body from pregnancy.
