Re: Using my crock pot today for the first time.....
i've never cooked turkey in there, but i've used mine tons of times for other stuff and it always comes out great! i've never had a problem leaving it on while i'm not there.. i think it cooks at such a low heat, and i've heard its not realy different than leaving a light on when yuo're not home.... let us know how it comes out!! and if it doesn't work out, like my aunt says " thats a sign that you're due for a dinner out!" LOL

I know how you feel, it took me a few times to get over being worried about it....but the food comes out soo yummy...and it's soo nice to get home from work and not have to make dinner! I've never made a turkey, but I've done a cooked a whole chicken, it came out sooo good, nice and juicy.

What did you put on your chicken? How long did you cook it for?
TIA
I did my 7lb turkey for 7 hours on high......it's totally going to be burnt but the recipe said for a 4-5lb turkey do 6hrs on high.
