How Rude!

So I thought it was just me, but apparently not its all the teachers...

As I know and some of you, that the admins in my school are not too fond of me....well usually when i walk into the office i greet with good morning and i get no response (thats the rude part) the past 5 months i've gotten used to it and said oh well WHATEVER...

BUT apparently I'm not the only one to get shunned in the morning, most the teachers do....i was ambushed ealrier this week by some teachers telling me how rude the admins are that they never say good morning....and they were taking an informal poll as teachers came down the hall.....not one person got a good morning!! that was about 7 teachers they stopped to ask....man rude rude rude!!!

So one of the teachers said one day like 5 of us should burst in singing the good morning song and see how they react!

But does this happen at your school? I'm just wondering

There was a certain AP at my old school last year who would always be standing right in front of the sign-in area - he would say hi to all these teachers and when I would say Good Morning to him, 9 times out of 10, he ignored me.
I hated that prick!

Seeing as I get there before the principal....I don't have this problem. But, if I see her in the hallway I might say Hello because she won't say it first. When I pick my kids up in the morning, she is so distracted I dont say hello.

i guess i am in the minority - my principal is great and very friendly - always says hi, talks to us, supports us and even keeps up with important things going on in our lives - he is the best!

I have only had two rude administrators in my 10 years - I think it's ridiculous. That is no way to "rally your troops." I would go to bat for any of the other admins - which makes the rude ones seem very silly.


I never understood this, especially with one who was very rude to aides. It doesn't matter the job, aides are HUMAN BEINGS. It just speaks volumes about the admins.

That does not happen in my school. It is a very friendly atomosphere everyone says hello to everyone.

Our school is for the most part very friendly, but we're on the smaller side too.

our school is very friendly- the principal usually says hi to me first when i see him in the hallway, and secretaries are helpful. all the teachers are great to work with, too.

I've been working the last 7 years with an absolutley positively rude and obnoxious adminstrator. She changes moods like the wind and is infamous for greeting sometimes and not others. It's such a depressing atmosphere and moral in my school is real low. It's really wearing me and others down. i used to love being a teacher now I have knots in my stomach every morning and do not even want to get out of my car...

we dont haved that problem.. the secretaries are great and always say hi and good morning..

but there are def other problems in my school haha

Last year we were working w/o a contract and yeah, some mornings people had their grumpy pants on.

Years ago, my dad told me a story about a boss (At NY Tel they were always getting new bosses) who would NEVER greet anyone. and would just put his head down and stare at the floor as people walked passed

So my dad made it his business to seek this guy out, get right in front of him, stoop down so he had to look at him and with the biggest, brightest, cheeriest face say... "GOOD MORRRRRRRRRNING!!!!!"

After about two months the guy finally cracked a smile

I know, my dad is crazy! But grumpy people like that can really bring morale down.

This definitely does NOT happen at my school. People are very nice and it's a great community.

BTW, since ive written this ive actually gotten good mornings

maybe my admins read this message board (doubtful)

There are lots of good mornings and goobyes in my school. It does make the day better!
