Miracle Blanket Users
DD is 5.5 weeks old and manages to get her legs out of the miracle blanket. I was wrapping a receiving blanket around her legs and that worked but as it gets warmer I don't want to do that anymore. Does/Did anyone elses DC do this? What am I doing wrong when I put it on her?

Re: Miracle Blanket Users
Are you putting her legs into the little flap area & then wrapping her? I don't see how she could wiggle free at that age....go to their website & there's a video on how to wrap them correctly.

Re: Miracle Blanket Users
My son has always been able to get out of it. Which is why we had to stop using it. Since there is no velcro for the legs it is relatively easy to get out of if the child wants to

I put her legs in the pocket and wrap her so tight. I rewatched the video just in case I was doing something wrong but it doesn't seem like it. Tonight as I was doing the last step, I could see she was getting ready to kick out her leg. It almost seems like she is too long for it, but she is only 5.5 weeks and I know so many bigger babies use it with no problems. For now, I will continue to wrap another receiving blanket around the bottom, but I won't be able to do that in the summer or when she gets too mobil since I don't want to have any extra blanket in there with her. I don't want to give up the miracle blanket!!!!

Re: Miracle Blanket Users
WOW I'm shocked!! DD who is a very active sleeper lasted 6 months until she broke out of the miracle blanket. She managed to spin around all night, but never got free.
You have one fiesty little girl!!

Re: Miracle Blanket Users
rocco kicked out his legs too, it was ok though, b/c the miracle blanket kept his arms in- which is what would wake him each day.
does she sleep ok w/her legs out?

Re: Miracle Blanket Users
Just a quick piece of advice because we had the same problem. We started first putting her in a sleep sack and THEN in the miracle blanket- that way she couldn't kick her legs free. Worked like a charm. :) Plus it got her used to being in a sleep sack and now that's all she uses (no miracle blanket).
The only problem I could see for you would be if she gets too hot- but they sell lightweight sleep sacks....

Sometimes she's fine and sometimes it wakes her up. I mostly concerned about her getting cold though. she only wears a onsie underneath because it is warm in our apartment but I am afraid her bare legs and feet will freeze if they are sticking out all night. In the summer when we have the air on, I'll probably put her in a light sleeper underneath so maybe it won't be such a worry.
