teacher / moms ?

i hold 3 certifications (2 initial and 1 provisional). i was a slacker and didn't do what i had to to get the permanent cert.s and now i'm a sahm and my certs are going to expire in less than 2 years. (i already have an extension on 2 of them.)

i'm going to do E.I. services come sept. and don't plan on going back to a school till my 2nd dc (i'm not even pg yet) is 2.

anyone know what i can do? i still need to do a video for 1 cert and i think a year of mentored teaching (?) in the other 2.

i can't get through to the nys cert. place if my life depended on it.

if you know someone in a district you can ask to come in and do your video. as for the mentoring, as far as I know you have to teach in a classroom.

You need to call Shirly Castellano in Boces. As far as video I wouold be happy to have you in my class in Sept. It wold be no problem with my supervisor. How many yrs teaching do u have though, theres a min for the perm cert. I just went throght this so fm me any???

they changed the requirements a few years ago. hopefully you are grandfathered in to the old ones.

i would call nassau or suffolk boces and find out exactly what you need and if you're still under the old regs. good luck!
