Question for the currently preggo moms
I posted on Pregnancy but got no bites so I thought I'd shout out to my fellow preggo mommas or anyone else who might remember the first weeks of pregnancy.
I don't recall being sooooo darn hungry with my first pregnancy. I am 7 weeks and I have an appetite that is that of a sumo wrestler. When does that subside? I am fearful of massive weight gain!

Re: Question for the currently preggo moms
In pregnancy boards someone had posted that they felt the same way.. I can not say i feel the same. Im now 14 weeks and still having trouble with food.. not as bad as my first pregnancy. My first pregnancy i couldnt eat a bite for 16 weeks. This pregnancy i can eat but by the time dinner comes im no way interested in food... I hoping this subsides soon... i cant take the thought of food making my stomach turn.

Re: Question for the currently preggo moms
I do remember eating many small meals for my first trimester. It was so often that I felt like I was eating all the time. I didn't think it was weird until my SIL told me how she couldn't eat in her first trimester.

Re: Question for the currently preggo moms
I def was not hungry at all the 1st Trimester this time around. That is why I lost wait. The thought of eating actually made me want to get sick!!
But now at almost 16 weeks I keep eating and eating and eating
I def gained a zillion lbs since my last Dr's visit.

Re: Question for the currently preggo moms
Im just 4 weeks and the symptoms have not kicked in. But I am like you. I am so hungry. Right now all i can thing of is breakfast.
Last pregnancy i had major food aversions. Im hoping this pregnancy stays somewhat symptomless.

Re: Question for the currently preggo moms
YEP me too! I didn't remember it being as bad w/#1 although I do remember complaining to someone I worked with at the time that I was probably going gain 100lbs. I only gained 22lbs total!
This time I think its worse but now I'm 12 weeks and its finally getting better. I haven't weighed myself but I don't see any huge amount of weight gain in my arms/legs but my belly is bigger. I don't think I really gained much at all. When I went for my 9 week visit at the Dr. I couldn't believe I hadn't gained an ounce...I was eating sooo much, I'm home all day so I graze all day long. I eat pretty healthy for the most part (like, when I'm at home) so hopefully my body is using most of what I'm eating! Maybe I'll weigh myself today I've been putting it off b/c I don't want to know, but it can't be that bad if my regular clothes still fit fine! Just eat healthy and try to get out/excercise. I've been riding my bike a lot w/DS in a child seat.

Re: Question for the currently preggo moms
I remember feeling that way with Lucas in the beginning I was ravenous....but it wasn't for the junkfood....I needed meals It was crazy and I was so nervous that I would pack on even more weight but it wasn't the case. I guess my body just needed it at that point because by the second trimester I would nibble and then in the 3rd I would have average meals...but god-forbid I missed one
As far as weight...all of the weight I have was from before the pregnancy - that period where I knew I was going to try soon and threw caution to the wind I gained 25 while pregnant and that came off after about 4-5 weeks after delivery.
So no worries...listen to your body. It's amazing how it knows what you need...that's what cravings are actually. My doctor said that our body requires something...our mind does a quick assessment of where and how to get that and the result is a craving.
