anyone ever have one?

Signs, symptoms..

Is it an emergency or can you wait a few days to see the dr?

I had an umbilical hernia. I felt a lump in my belly button, it hurt. I went to the ER because I didnt know what it was. THey operated on it the next day. I didn't want any obstructions.

Hmmmmm.... I don't know if I should go to the ER or not

Last week I did a Pilates tape and that night I had strong pelvic pain but just thought I pulled something

the last few days I've had weird groin/pelvic pain and I was just carrying a suitcase and really felt it...so I went to show my DH where (left side pelvic area) and I felt a hard knot there...large gumball size

I had a hernia operation when I was 4 but obviously can't remember much

ETA- is it outpatient surgery? How long are you off your feet?

I think it can wait till Tuesday but then again I'm not a doctor. They did wait 24 hrs to operate on me so I guess it can wait. They also tried pushing my intestine back inside my stomach wall... yeah even with morphine that was incredible pain!!!!!

I think a gumball size thing sounds like a hernia.

I had the surgery and was out of the hospital the next day??? maybe 2 days?? I don't remember it was July '01. I think it was about a week before I could walk upright and stopped taking pain meds.

Please get this checked out. My brother thought he had a hernia and was in surgery to have it fixed when they found it was cancer.

He had a very dangerous form of cancer called liposarcoma. THANKFULLY they found it soon (which is RARE therefore making it very dangerous) so they were abel to remove all of it and now he's in remission.

Please, you just never know, go get yourself checked out.

So, I went to Huntington hospital and the (very very young) dr felt the lump and said it was a hernia. He tried to push it back in with no success...

He ordered a cat scan to make sure that my intestines weren't coming through...and Doogie comes back with this gem....

No hernia, I have a fatty cyst...but I do have a HYDROSALPINX TUBE

any of you that know me know that I have had this forever

He was so proud of himself and I had to knock him down....

also, too bad I had told him earlier that I had 2 laps for hydrosalpinx tubes, one removed, one cauterized

and then to top it off when I was discharged he came over to make sure my iv was taken out (never had one)...and everyone told me not to go to Good Sam
