Daycare Moms

Can you give me your best question to ask them.

I already made one round of visits, and now I'm ready to go back on my unannounced visit.

Any BTDT moms with some good questions to ask them?

For me, turnover of the staff and turnover of children are very important. Also, average length of tenure of the staff, their education, how is the staff evaluated, what does the average day look like (what will my kid be doing, how will they spend their day), how do they feel about drop in visits, how do they handle disipline (biting, time out vs. redirecting), etc.

That's more than one, sorry.

thanks so much!

Did you ask anything about background checks?

Is there anything you can see regarding that? (I like to see things in writing Chat Icon )

Re: Daycare Moms

My main questions were about the staff--what are their credentials, background checks, are they certified in CPR/first aid? I also wanted to know how they handle discipline.

Re: Daycare Moms

As a Recruiter and a mom, the most important question to me is what are their criteria for hiring on teachers. background checks (criminal/drug)/education/prior experience, other qualifitications (CPR, First Aid). Do the staff get paid time off? What is average tenure of teachers. Do they each create their own curriculum, how does that work (more important for older kids)
Most importantly qualifications of the PM staff which seems to be floaters/high school students in some centers after say 4PM. This irked me to no end.
