Do you get embarassed?
When someone comments on your weight loss?
A lot of people have made comments to me recently, and everytime, I get so uncomfortable and embarassed. I almost feel like I have to make excuses, like, oh, I was stressed, or I'm taking new medication which helps me lose weight (thyroid meds), instead of just saying, yes, I was overweight, realized I needed to lose some, so I've been eating right and working out.
I just never know what to say when people remark on my weight loss.

Just say thanks and move the conversation along if you feel uncomfortable with it.
I wouldn't try to make excuses (fake or not).

omg yes!!!!
This has been happening a lot lately...
We were at a christening this past weekend and EVERYONE was commenting...its nice, but people start going on and on how I am wasting away (HARDLY!!!), don't lose anymore, how did you do it, etc, etc
I just say thanks and try to change the subject

i just try to say thank you and move on
but it embarrasses me when anyone comments on my body. i just recently lost five pounds and everyone (including the DH) is telling me that i look great - makes me wonder if i looked so bad before, you know?

The only time is when people literally give me the look up and down with their eyes. Other than that I've learned to just be numb to it good and bad.
I do get a kick out of it though when people say "you've lost a lot of weight haven't you?" as if I didn't know

It can be uncomfortable, like someone else said, when everyone comments on how much weight I lost and how great I look it almost makes me think, "Was I really that overweight?" "Did I really look that bad?
It can also be weird when people seem jealous.

Beth - I know you look great now, but from the pics I have seen before, you were *NEVER* overweight!!!!
