Right now I think Obama is going to win. However I think a lot will depend on what happens with the debate tomorrow night. It is such a close race and it doesn't seem to take much to sway people's opinion one way or the other.

Not a bad american just a rude and disrespectful person. People of positions and titles should be called by them. You don't have to like or respect her politics but acknoledge her for having the current position she has not for the VP run,
I haven't been on the boars very mych in the last few months and this is one of the first I have read and posted on.

Wow. I think this comment was really uncalled for. I agree that much worse has been written about the other candidates, our current President, and load of other politicians. Calling her out for this one comment comes across as a way to stir up trouble on a thread that in no way suggested trouble needed to be stirred up in the first place. We all have our differing opinions on politics. Maybe we can refrain from attacking one another though?

I want to believe that Obama will win because we CAN NOT afford 4 more years of the same. But I believe that McCain will take it, because he flipflops on the issues so often and tells people what they want to hear. People are eating it up.

Re: NOT "who are you voting for" but...

Has anyone been paying attention to the electoral map on CNN?

Several "battleground" states have recently swayed to Obama. And a few states who were "leaning McCain" are now "Undecided" (Missouri and North Carolina are ones I noticed)

Something really big needs to happen in the next 4 weeks for McCain to gain any ground...

Before the economy totally tanked, I didn't think Obama had a chance. Now I'm not so sure.

agree. People feel like a change is needed, so I think Obama might just pull it off!

In spite of the recent news, McCain pulling out of Michigan and all, I think it's going to be him. My feelings are that there are racist and ignorant people who won't vote for Obama, and there are people who love Sarah Palin despite her lack of qualifications to be President.

Sarah Palin is NOT running for President, she's running for VP.
What makes Barak Obama (who is actually running for President) more qualified?

I am all for Obama/Biden and sadly, I think McCain is going to win. There are still too many people in this country who are racist, ignorant - call it what you want - and will come out in droves to vote against a black President. It's depressingChat Icon

Well for starters when asked a question he answers it in a coherent manner, not a bunch of garble nonsense.

She has no clue about anything that is happening outside of Alaska.

I'm sorry but have you seen the interviews she has done???

I know. Chat Icon However, from her comments about getting more power to the VP and her obvious ambition, as well as McCain's age, I think she has her eye on bigger things. She is not naive- she knows that it's very possible that she could find herself as President.

As for qualifications - I think someone whose resume includes Columbia and Harvard Law, law professor, community organizer, state senator, and US Senator from Illinois is much more qualified than someone who bounced around to 4 colleges, worked as a tv weather announcer, had 10 years in local gov't and less than 2 years as a governor of a state with fewer people than Obama represented as a state senator.

Re: NOT "who are you voting for" but...

Given the recent polling reports I believe OBAMA will win!!

But my gut tells me that the racism in this country will not allow that. The powers that be will not let that happen.

ITA. This is my problem with her, even more than her stance on social issues. She doesn't show any sign of having a grasp on either national or international affairs, and while she is running for VP and not Pres., it's a problem. I really don't understand the spell she has over some people.

Re: NOT "who are you voting for" but...

its weird, even more then the race issue with Obama, I feel this is the same country who voted for another 4 years with Bush. I thought it was in the bag for Kerry.

I have yet to meet a person that she has a "spell" over. Most people, even those who are staunch Republicans, dislike her. Many more people wonder what "spell" Obama has cast on people too. I am still undecided, and think it could go either way. IMO, Hillary would have been the best choice!
