how do you find a headhunter?

I posted about my issue find ing a new position and someone suggested a headhunter. I have never gone this route and have been searching but ALL the sites I have come across metnino jsut registering and then they'll contact you. I havce done this with many employment agencies and have not heard a thing. I guess what I'm looking for is someone that wil lactually talk to me in person.....that's actually how I thought it worked but I guess times have changes...I feel old!!

Any advice would be great. I am looking for a higher level marketing position.
