For those who converted from fuel to gas?
How happy are you with the conversion?
Do you think it was a good investment?
Would you have done anything different?
I would appreciate any feedback.
TIA

Re: For those who converted from fuel to gas?
I just did this in Oct and I am so happy that I did.
My bills over the winter so far have been probably more then half it would have been if I was still using Oil.
I don't have to deal with delivery problems, running out of Oil and that alone makes me so at ease.
I checked around and got about 5 different quotes from Plumbers and ended up with a fantastic one if you need a recommendation.

Re: For those who converted from fuel to gas?
we did this about 6 years ago and never made a better decision!
Our bills are so much less than what they would have been if we still had oil and like the PP said, we do not worry about delivery or running out.

Re: For those who converted from fuel to gas?
I'm very glad we made the change. I think the highest my gas bill was $325. That is for heating, cooking and our gas dryer. And over the summer, it's like nothing because we BBQ a lot and then I'm just using the dryer on the weekends for a few loads of laundry. I hear my neighbors talking about $500, 600 or even $1000 oil bills for one month, so yes, we are very glad we did.

This is our next project. I cannot wait to convert. Our January oil bill was $350 and we have less than half a tank left!

I'm so glad to hear this. I'm making the call tomorrow to National Grid because I am SO done with oil! We have gas stove and dryer, and I'm ready for the change!

We have been really happy so far. We converted in August. No regrets.

We are 1000000000% happy that we did. We had to make a choice to replace the oil tank or convert, which would be the same. We did it right after we moved in. The process was so easy. No oil deliveries, no huge bills at one time, its cleaner. All pros and no cons in my book!

Re: For those who converted from fuel to gas?
Thanks for all the feedback!
We entertained doing it before this winter but we are not allowed to dig into the road to connect to the gas line before this coming August. They would not allow the road to be reopen before 5 years from last time it was done. Nevermind that the connection is only 40 ft away.

it sounds like gas is higher than oil right now. Check out the other thread.
