Spinoff to my post about morning sickness... if you have more than 1, how did you handle being sick and taking care of a toddler?

So I am apparently about 5 weeks and just started with the morning sickness today.

But this time I have a toddler to take care of.

For those of you who had morning sickness with #2, how did you deal with it? I just fear that I am going to be home alone and will have to run to the bathroom to throw up while I leave my little DC unattended. Any tips or suggestions? Do I sweep DC up and bring them into the bathroom with me and close the door?

Not looking forward to weeks and weeks of this!

When I was in the thick of morning sickness, I let Alex watch a lot of TV/movies, while I lay on the couch. If I had to run to the bathroom to gag, I'd just let her sit on her little sofa and watch TV. She was about 3 at the time though, so I guess it depends on how old your little one is.

Hi - congratulations! I have a 3 year old and I am 25 weeks pregnant. in the beginning I had terrible nausea but no throwing up. I had to take things easy in the morning as that was the worse time and DD knew that mommy wasnt able to be hopping and skipping in the morning as usual - but she is older so gets it a bit!

My SIL is pregnant with #2 and has an 18mth old - he has seen her throwing up as he imitates her now! She says she just runs and he follows her - I think the less of a fuss you can make the better - what age is your little one?

DS turned one recently and I'm 17 weeks. Sometimes I would lay on the couch and let DS play with his toys in front of me. Whenever I dry heaved or got sick and ran to the bathroom, DS was surprisingly cooperative. He always had this look of concern on his face when I got sick (probably from all the noise I was making)! Only once did I had to stick him in his high chair and run to the bathroom. Other times he just stopped what he was doing to see if he could watch me.

Well for the most part I was lucky I only got MS late afternoon/night - so I only had a few hours alone with DD (who was 15 months when I got pregnant) each day for a few weeks. Those times - honestly I would try to do some quiet play with her where I could just sit and interact and not chase her - or try to get some snuggle time with her when she would sit (which is rare). Otherwise I just kind of powered thru it. The few times I got sick I had to bring her in with me - she would play on the bathroom floor with her tub toys - but she did mimick me in sounds a few times.
