what are you feeding your 7 month old?

I thought that I was feeding my 7 month old plenty of food. She gets between 25 and 30 oz a day of formula, and 3x a day I give her 3-4 teaspoons of solid food with the bottle. Breakfast is usually 2 tsp of cereal with 1 tsp of fruit... etc.
What are you feeding your 7 month old babies?
Thanks!

only one teasepoon of fruit? I would definately feed your DC more. My son is only 6 months old and the doctor told me he can eat 2 jars of fruit/veggies for a meal. He now drinks only 28 oz perday, down from 40+ ozs of formula.

Does your DC seem, hungry?

DS gets 28 oz. of formula a day plus one 4oz. jar of fruit for lunch and one 4 oz. jar of veggie for dinner. we mix 2 tablespoons of dry cereal into the fruit and veggie since he doesn't really like cereal by itself. he is not a big eater at all - i feel like he should be getting more than that but he seems to be growing and gaining weight just fine.

ETA: MY DS eats three meals a day, with 4 7oz bottles throughout the day.

He also has a small 2 oz juice (diluted with water)in a sippy cup for lunch. MY son eats like a horse...sometimes I feel he is still hungry!

Re: what are you feeding your 7 month old?

Thanks so much for responding.
She does not seem hungry and I think she is so big! She is in the 90th percentile for height and 70th percentile for weight... and I think she is actually chubby!
But when I brought her to daycare yesterday, they seemed concerned that I was not feeding her enough and said that the other kids her age eat a lot more than she does.
Every dr visit, she has had a gain, so I wasn't really concerned... until yesterday.
Actually, I always thought I was feeding her too much because I do think she is chubby.

Do you feed the solids first, and then the bottle? Or the bottle first and then solids?

Honestly, my kid has always been a pukey type of kid, so I space out his bottles and his food, typically I will wait an hour or two between. It's more work, but he does not spit up this way.Foir example he had a 7 0z bottle at 600am and daycare will feed him 3 teaspoons of cereal and 1 jar of fruit at 8 or so. The only liquid he gets with a meal is with his lunch and it's only a small amount of juice...to help wash the food down!Chat Icon

maybe next time, ask the ped what they think? ETA: my son is off the charts for his height and has now went down to 75% in weight.

Re: what are you feeding your 7 month old?

My son sounds similar to your little one - he's 90th percentile for height and between 50-75th for weight.

I give him half a jar of fruit and 1 Tablespoon of cereal for breakfast, usually an hour and a half after his bottle. If I gave it at the same time, I don't think he would have the room for it. For dinner he has 1/2 jar of veggie and cereal. His dinner is usually an hour or an hour and a half before his last bottle.

We just introduced yogurt this week and his doctor said to start meat around 7 or 8 months.

Mine are just about 5 months so you baby might be able to have more but my Dr told me up to 4 TB of cereal 2X per day plus 1/2-1 jar of fruit or veg. So I think you could increase her cereal-I would do it gradually so it doesn't upset her stomach

Re: what are you feeding your 7 month old?

My DD doesn't have a lot at all, we BF so can't meausre how much she is getting for that. We also make our own baby food so she usually has like 2tbs ceral and 1/2 an apple at a time, maybe 2X a day. If not apple then she has other fruit or vegs.
