Yeast Infections Anyone?? Please Help!!
I seem to get them about twice a year, which for those of you who get them know is two way too many! My doctor said that amount is pretty much normal, depending on each women and their medical history of course.
But I want to know what I am doing wrong and what I can do to stop them completely. I know plenty of women who have never gotten a yeast infection in their lives!
I try to eat yogurt regularly for the good bacteria, I wear cotton panties, I am not diabetic and don't have HIV which can cause yeast infections. I don't douche. I don't think that I eat that much sugar, but I have been trying even harder to cut back on sugars if it will save me from this hell. I can't imagine why I get them.
Here is my question, if you used to get them but have figured out how to defend your self against them, what is your secret? Also, it's hard to get a doc appt. when they are telling you they have nothing for a day or two but you need relief NOW! Have you found an over the counter that REALLY works and cures it, not just masks it? Please give me any advice you have, I want to stop getting them.
Thank you so much for any advice you can give!!

I get them a few times a year as well. Do you always use the bathroom right after you BD? I know a lot of times that can cause it. I haven't found any good way to prevent them, but when I do get one I use the monistat one pack and put tons of cream on. Sorry I can't be more helpful though. I hope you get some relief

Re: Yeast Infections Anyone?? Please Help!!
I have heard that yeast infections can be systemic, not just localized in one area, which is why they continue to occur. I have also heard of people taking probiotics. There are different types of probiotics, such as acidophilus (sp?) and I don't know much about it, but they supposedly can help by promoting the growth of good bacteria. I have also heard of people completely modifying their diet until the yeast is completely gone. I don't think that typical western doctors suggest these things, but some people claim it has helped them.
Have you posted this on the Health Board?
Good luck

I also posted on parenting and got some ideas and sympathy, it's nice to know I'm not surrering alone I will try posting on the health boards as well. Thanks for you help.
