How many children can you have if the birth was a c-section???
just curious as 3 different Dr's have given me 3 different answers
I know it depends on the scar tissue/condition of a woman's uterous
Also I know you must wait 2 years between births but was wondering as i dont know anyone who has had more than 3 children after a c-section

I've had three with each being 2 1/2 years apart. I know with my last one, my doc said I had a lot of scar tissue and the next one would be risky. I don't plan on having anymore, not because of that, but b/c I'm happy with three. I do know a neighbor of mine has eight children and has had 6 of them by c-section.

I haven't been told a number of babies, but I am assuming this number is pregnancies, not babies right? I had two in one shot, lol. I want one more, so that would be three anyway.
My dr. did tell me I had to wait at least one year between c-sections.

My OB told me during my 2nd that he would let me know how things healed and if my body could handle a 3rd. He said it all depends on how you heal. He knows many that have 2 and have complications but he just did his 4th on someone and it went fantastic.

I wondered about this too b/c my cousin said that her dr. told her that she couldn't have anymore children after her third c-section. I am going to ask my dr. during the next visit - i am sure it is based on an individual basis, but I hear that 3 is usually the maximum.

I had 3 c-sections 2 of which were only 11 months apart. i was so scared but my dr. said i would be fine.

When I was in the hospital, there was a girl having her 4th c-section. Not sure if this is recommended, I'm not a medical professional!

I was having this conversation with my OB while I was PG because I met someone who told me she had 8 kids - all by C-section! 
I asked my doctor about it because I was curious - I figured that many by c/s probably wasn't a good idea. She was surprised, she said on average, 3 would be the most she would recommend.

I know years ago c-sections were done up/down the stomache rather than the bikini incision like now
Ok, someone just told me Ethel Kennedy had 11  c-sections!!!!
not sure if that is true

My cousin's wife has had 8 deliveries all via c-section.
She was warned by her former OB that a 4th pregnancy/delivery would be risky and she should stop at three . Her doc was right, the fourth pregnancy and delivery was touch and go for both her and the baby. From the details that I remember, pretty much any woman would have stopped at that point. She was putting herself at risk and running the risk of leaving her first three children without a mother.
Her OB practice (New Jersey) dropped her and told her any subsequent pregnancies were too much of a risk. I have only recently found out that for her last four pregnancies she was uninsured and no prenatal care... no insurance company or OB would touch her. She delivered her last four children after walking into the ER in full blown labor. My aunt told me her abdominal muscles are in bad shape and she has a tremendous amount of scar tissue. Apparently, age was the only thing that eventually stopped her. She had plans to keep going.
I only know this info second hand. Knowing that she put herself and her children at so much risk caused a lot of emotional turmoil in our extended family. This was an especially sensitive topic since so many of my biological female relatives and myself (my generation) have only been able to conceive with the use of fertility treatments.

michelle duggar of 18 kids and counting has had 16 pregnancies (2 sets of the kid are twins) and only 3 were c-sections. I think she's had some vbacs in there.

I have had 3 c-sections and my doctor never said anything about their being a "limit" on the number of children I can have. My best friend has had 4, and is PG with #5, and they are all c/s babies.

I don't think you have to stop at 3. But my sister is an OB and she said it's risky after 3
