I recently got 4 things off my friends registry, checked the website and saw that only one was taken off, looked at receipt, same thing. I had to call them and have them manually take it off. I think what happened was the girl rang up 3 items, I remembered they were from the registry handed her that, she scanned and then the last item.
I'm expecting lots of dupes too.

i 100% regret doing my 1st baby registry there. it's nothing but headaches.
this one i did at BBB. i will not put myself through that headache again.
i hope you get to return your stuff.
BTW...it really seems to be NY BRUs that have problems. my friends in other states don't have the same issues. it's especially the westbury store--that one is the worst!

Marking items purchased on your registry does work! I received duplicates on my registry and some items that weren't even bought there, but BBU does carry them so I added them to the registry marked them purchased and returned them for store credit. You just need to learn how to play the system. Hope this helps.

Can you call bru and pretend you're some family member that bought something off of your registry the other day, but it never came off the registry, and ask them to take it off of your registry. Then try to go back and return it that way?
I did this for multiple items and it worked like a charm.

I heard this from so many people! Dh and I went last week to pick up a toy box and they had TWO people working on the floor. Neither had a clue as to what they were doing. We had to wait 30 mins for someone to help us. I am so glad I did not register there!

I registered at BBB only becuase of so many ppl telling me of issues with BRU.
Plus BBB takes Bed, Bath and Beyond coupons! 
ditto! after reading about all the nightmare issues people have had with bru i told myself i was only going to register at bbb.

In any case, I agree with you Jen, the Sayville BRU is good! From my experience, the one in Bayshore blows! The people are rude and not the most competent. I've been there a few times b/c it's 5 mins. closer (I'm in the middle of the two) and every time I vow not to go there again!! 
JennyPenny: Go to the BRU in Sayville at Johnson Ave and Sunrise Hwy (north side of Sunrise). I bet they won't give you a big problem!! Good luck!

If it was one or two things I might think that, but it was about 30 different items that were bought and not taken off as purchased.
Something doesn't seem right. I have heard about an item or two but usually it is the persons fault and they never gave them a registry number but 30??? Sounds like some sort of weird, rare computer glitch or something.
I have been shopping there for over 3 yrs and had 2 registries with them and never had a problem.
