I also use the ziplocks. I request parents send in the freezer kind. I also think they are a pain.

What do your kids do,...have their own baggies?

I just keep three books in a bag and the kids have to read those three books. This is my school's policy.

yes my kids have their own book baggies. they use them during reading workshop and read one book a night at home (and do a reading log entry on the book - which i may not do this yr because it is a lot of checking and the ones who really need it dont do what they should anyway) they book shop once a week and pick 6 books on their reading level and 1 look book.

since they have their own, you can imagine, I am sometimes changing book baggies once a month

They have little bookbags at the dollar tree. They were cute!

Ziplocks and every couple of weeks, they get new ones. It's been working. It's wasteful, yes, but really the only option right now. And my kids use them until they've got holes and tears.

We get them small canvas bags and have them bring them home to decorate at the beginning of the year.

I also use the Ziplocks. Parents send a box of the gallon bags at the beginning of the year. I still have so much by the end of the school year that I send them home.

I like the ones with the labels in front. I write their names and reading levels on the label.

I know I have seen them at Michaels. I want to say the best I've seen them is 2/$1. My grade level opted to use some of our allotted funds to purchase the bags for them, so I've never had to buy them myself. But the kids love them! They hang them on the backs of their chairs most days.
