Re: making a will...
DD#1 is 19 months old and we still haven't gotten around to doing our will. We did inform the person we are asking to be her guardian, and we also informed our parents of the decision just in case anything happens.

Re: making a will...
My husband is actually supposed to discuss this with our lawyer sometime this week, so I'd be interested to hear from others as well. If possible, I'd like to have it done before I give birth...

Re: making a will...
we did a will before DS was born. it was VERY important to us to have it done for our child's sake.
think about it this way--if it's uncomfortable for you to even think of making one, think of how uncomfortable it will be for your baby if god forbid something happened to you and your DH? you're making life easier for your DC and the rest of your family by making your wishes heard

Re: making a will...
we just asked our lawyer about this and he suggested we wait until after the baby is born and then create one. I think he said something about superstition.

Re: making a will...
We are definitely going to do a will. As an attorney, I know how important it is to have one because with a child, the intestacy laws can get messy, and no one wants G-d forbid, a fight in surrogates court or family court over their child if something happened to the parents. I don't know if anyone remembers that couple that had twins and they died in a plane crash (this was early this year). The father was a cancer patient going to get treatment. My courtroom partner had the case and literally, everyone was fighting over these kids. I would never want that for my kids. I think the sooner the better but I think I will wait until DC is born so I can name him/her specifically in the will. HTH!

Re: making a will...
Sadly it took until until our second was 8 months old to finally do a will. We did it because we were going away without the kids. It's not fun to think about but it feels good to have it done.
